Boo Crew box card

Howdy peeps! I hope you’re ready for the weekend and have something fun planned! I have a great ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome October 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! You know I’m a huge fan of fun folds and the awesome assortment of products in this month’s collection have my head spinning with ideas! This floating elements box card features coordinating papers and ghoulish character stickers along with enamel dots and a tag from the upgrades! My inspiration for this fun fold came from Sam Calcott over at Mixed Up Craft. I totally love her designs!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock 12×12 Twine cardstock and embellished it with CutCardStock Pop Tone Hot Fudge cardstock and patterned papers (on the front and inside) from the collection. I adhered five character stickers from the sticker sheet to small scraps of CutCardStock Basis White cardstock and fussy cut them. I cut a circle in the card base using the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies and added the ghoulish cuties across the aperture, anchoring them to an acetate strip to create the appearance of floating. I used more stickers from the sticker sheet and enamel dots from the upgrades to finish embellishing the card front.

I cut the back panel from Basis White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of coordinating paper from the kit. I added a sentiment from the Frames & Tags in the upgrades and layered the panel on Pop Tone Hot Fudge cardstock.

‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly

Hi friends! I hope your week is winding down nicely and you’re having some great Fall weather! I have another fun cat-themed Christmas card to share today for the 2023 Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge to honor our dear friend, Janis Woolbright, who organized the Cat Lovers Hops for eight years. I employed the ‘floating strips’ technique for this adorable card featuring the Lost Coast Designs Happy Cat rubber stamp which was the prize I won in last year’s Cat Lovers Hop a couple months before Janis passed away in January. So, as you can imagine, this stamp is rather special to me.

To add to the fun, there’s an additional game I’m playing in with this card called Let’s Play Tic-Tac-Toe with Gail which involves a tic-tac-toe board that Gail made from some of her favorite cards Janis made over the years using various techniques. As with a typical tic-tac-toe board, the options are up, down, across and diagonal. I went up and down, and chose the third column of patterned papers, scraps and stamp. All six of the Christmas patterned papers I used were scraps and I paired them with the Happy Cat rubber stamp.

The floating strips technique is really simple and makes for some awesome detail on cards. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with six strips (of varying widths) from patterned paper scraps in the PhotoPlay Here Comes Santa Collection Pack. I adhered them to a piece of acetate with Scor-Tape, leaving about the same amount of space between each strip. I trimmed the panel, added foam strips to the back (being sure they couldn’t be seen through the acetate in the front), and adhered the panel to the card base.

I stamped the Happy Cat in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Solar White cardstock, fussy cut him and set him aside. I wrapped some GKD gold cording around the panel (between the foam strips), made a couple loops, and added three Eyelet Outlet Holiday Light Brads (prongs removed) with foam squares. I added a sentiment sticker from the PhotoPlay collection and several red gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of patterned paper and CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. I added another sentiment sticker and layered the panel on black cardstock.

Dream Big fun fold

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday – it’s almost the weekend! I’ve popped in this morning to share another Syncopation Design inspiration project created with the super adorable and way amazing Cat Therapy stamp set! I can’t get enough of these kitties! And this stamp set has SO MUCH to offer with over 50 stamps in it! Dang! I created a bay window fold to show off this little guy (or gal) on a rainbow! This is a new-to-me fold that was showcased in a recent Splitcoast Stampers newsletter HERE. You know I’m always on the lookout to try new ones and this one is super easy and really packs a punch!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar white cardstock and layering panels from Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush cardstock and assorted prints from the Echo Park My Favorite Summer Collection Kit. I stamped the sentiment and kitty on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock, trimmed the sentiment and colored the image with alcohol markers. I cut the image with a Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Die and a slightly larger circle from a coordinating print in the Summer collection. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff to the little clouds after adhering the circular panel to the card front. The final touch was stamping swirls (from the same stamp set) down both sides of the card front for a little interest.

I cut the inside panels from Solar White and Sweet Blush cardstock, added a couple stickers from the Summer collection to the inside, leaving it blank with plenty of room to write a custom message. The fun part is that this card folds completely flat for mailing!

Scrappy hugs,

Haunting mini slimline

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having an amazing week! I have a super cool ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome October 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I have been having a great time creating projects with all the coordinating products in this month’s collection. Mini slimline cards are my jam these days and I created a hauntingly fun scene on this one which features papers and stickers along with a chipboard accent from the upgrades.

I cut the card base and layered frame (using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Tri-Frame Dies) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and the background panel from a paper in the collection. I adhered the two houses and the truck stickers from the sticker sheet to small scraps of CutCardStock Basis White for slight dimension and fussy cut them. I built the scene with several more stickers from the sticker sheet and a chipboard bat from the upgrades, popping the truck up on a foam strip.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of coordinating paper from the kit and a scrap of Basis White. I added a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet and layered the panel on CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

Meowy Christmas

Hey everybody! It’s Hump Day and I hope your week is going great! It’s turning out to be a busy morning on my blog – I’ve posted a couple design team projects and now I’m back with another post just for fun! You all know that Ed and I are ‘crazy cat people’ and you may remember me participating in the last four Cat Lovers Hops organized by my friend, Janis Woolbright. Sadly, Janis passed away on January 6th of this year (which is also my dad’s birthday) and one of her friends is organizing the 2023 Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge in her honor! How cool is that?! I didn’t know about it until Jo commented on one of my projects several days ago. I’ve been busy with design team work but was able to squeeze in a cat-themed Christmas card to enter into the challenge. There is a limit of six projects over the entire month of October, so I think I’ll be able to make five more! I’m very touched to have been invited to participate! Janis was a wonderful person and is missed by many. <3

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding bi-level card base (front flap shorter than the back flap, either horizontally or vertically) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and ran the short flap through my Big Shot with a Paper Smooches Stitched Borders die. I grabbed my American Crafts Christmas Holiday Prints and Christmas Prints 6×6 paper pads and cut a side panel and several flags which I created with the Stampin’ Up Banner Triple Punch.

I adhered the flags to the card front along with a sparkly black cat die cut in my stash (I don’t remember where it came from) and an Eyelet Outlet Santa Hat Brad. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and added several clear gemstones which completed the card front.

I stamped the inside sentiment from the same Simon Says Stamp stamp set, and the card was complete! Super easy design that would be really easy to mass produce for everybody on your Christmas list! And this particular card is in honor of our dear friend, Janis, so that makes it even more special!

Time With Friends fun fold

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’ve popped in this morning with my second post to share a Syncopation Design inspiration project! I was gifted the super adorable Cat Therapy stamp set, and of course, being a Crazy Cat Lady, all kinds of ideas were swimming through my head! It has been a minute since I created a shutter card (shutter – as in camera) and I once again tried my hand at it and used several of the images in this stamp set. I love how it turned out! If you are a fellow cat person, you need this stamp set in your stash – it has over 50 stamps in it!

I cut the card base, inside pieces and belly band from CutCardStock Sno Cone cardstock, along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the Basic Grey Marjolaine 6×6 paper pad and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I stamped several images and sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Cat Therapy stamp set on Solar White, fussy cut them and adhered them to the belly band. I stamped a paw print and sentiment on the card front in black ink, and added several turquoise pearls.

I used circle punches to create an aperture on the inside for the shutter mechanism, and added a sticker from the 7 Gypsies Architextures Create Stash Paque. Here is a shot of the shutter opening up.

And here is a shot of the shutter completely open revealing another adorable kitty from the stamp set getting in some ‘me time.’ How stinkin’ cute is this?!

Scrappy hugs,

Something Wicked fun fold

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome October 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I’m totally in love with all the coordinating products in this collection and created a spooky pop up block card. My inspiration for this fun fold came from Lisa Curcio, a SU demonstrator who posted it on Instagram. You know I’m always on the look-out for new ones to make – this is my first attempt at this particular one and I love how it turned out! It features papers and stickers from this month’s collection along with a tag and enamel dots from the upgrades, and really is quite simple despite it’s complex look!

I cut the card base and blocks from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange cardstock and embellished the pieces with coordinating papers from the kit which I layered on CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. The focal element is a tag from the Frames & Tags in the upgrades which I layered on a scrap piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished with a Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine bow. I added a bat sticker from the sticker sheet and several enamel dots from the upgrades.

I cut the back panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of coordinating paper from the kit and Basis Black cardstock. I added a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet and layered the panel on black cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

Hello Friend

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope your week has started off nicely! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #75! I created a pinwheel twist card using my Scan N Cut, a cut file and some really pretty patterned paper from Hot Off The Press. I’ve made several 4-sided pinwheel twist cards using a cut file but have also learned to make them by hand-cutting the card base and panels (even a 6-sided one), and either way, they are fun and easy to make!

Using my Scan N Cut and the Haunted House Pinwheel Twist Card cut file (just the base pieces) from My Scrap Chick, I cut the card base and panels from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Violette cardstock and coordinating patterned papers from Hot Off The Press Lilacs In Bloom 6×6 papers. I assembled the card, adding ephemera from the paper pack to three sides and an 80# Solar White panel to the fourth side for a handwritten message and/or signature.

When witches go riding

Hey everybody! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with a super cute almost-one-layer card featuring a cat and two bats from the Scary Cat & Bats stamp set that I paired with some digital Halloween paper in my stash. This is a super easy design in traditional Halloween colors that packs a punch!

I already had several patterns of the Printable Cuttable Creatables Halloween Treats Digital Paper Pack (printed on 65# Hammermill copy paper) out on my desk from another project, so I cut two pieces into rectangles and then diagonally into long triangles. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and rounded the bottom right corner. I adhered two of the long triangles to the left side, then stamped the sentiment in Memento Grape Jelly ink. I stamped the cat and two bats in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and that completed the card. Easy peasy!

Autumn-my favorite time of year

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I’m stoked to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today! This sweet mini bendi card was created with papers and die cut pieces from the newly re-released Farmhouse Fall Collection! This is definitely a wonderful time of the year and all the products in this collection are just amazing and make the most wonderful Autumn- and Fall-themed projects!

I cut the mini bendi card base, elements and layering panels from double-sided papers in the 12×12 Cardstock Pack, 12×12 Collection Pack and the 6×9 Collection Pack. I grabbed quite a few pieces of ephemera from the Falling For You Die Cut Pieces and went to town putting it all together! The finishing touch was adding a couple Jade Enamel Dots to horizontal panel. This was definitely a fun one!

I used the Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut two panels from CutCardStock Basis Natural cardstock for the back, and added a couple more pieces of ephemera to complete the card.
