To Read or Not To Read

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week and looking forward to some fun this weekend! Our new challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog launched this morning and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #83 – Anything Goes! This is a reading-themed 4-1/2″ square card I made with the Keep It Simple Namaste Home Collection – and it’s one of the easiest cards I think I’ve ever made. ;)

I cut the 4-1/2″ square card base from CutCardStock Basis 80# White along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Vanilla Bean Brown cardstock and a die cut square from a patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Namaste Home Collection Pack using a Keep It Simple Stitched Squares Nested Die. I added a sentiment sticker popped up on foam strips along with an open-book sticker on the shelf for a little subtle dimension. The finishing touch was adding several Keep It Simple Hello Adventure Enamel Dots to the top shelf.

I cut the inside panel from Basis White and embellished it with leftover strips of the patterned paper and brown cardstock used on the front. I added another sentiment sticker and layered the panel on brown cardstock.

Hey, everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #81 – Anything Goes! This adirondack chair is so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it! It was among the final large batch of SVG files I cut with my Scan N Cut prior to it dying a while back. I know I’ve mentioned before that over the years my cutting machines have lived in their boxes to keep dust off of them, and when I get them out to play, I cut a bunch files at once and then have a marathon session of putting them all together! This adorable beach chair features a pillow, a towel hanging on the back (with a sentiment), and an envelope. And it folds flat for mailing which I love!

Using the SVG Cuts Adirondack Chair SVG file and my Scan N Cut, I cut the chair from CutCardStock Twine and the pillow from a pattern in the Paper Studio Country Road 12×12 paper pad. I cut the flower from CutCardStock Pop Tone Cotton Candy and Pop Tone Spearmint, and the towel (hanging on the back) from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock.

I stamped a sentiment on the towel from the Inspired By Stamping Seaside Sentiments stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. As I always say… the assembly is the most fun, and although there weren’t very many pieces to this project, I still enjoyed putting it together!

Adventure Awaits

Hey everybody! Happy Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it’s the first of May… the first half of the year is almost gone! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #80 – Anything Goes! I created a fun pop-up book fold using papers, stamps, a foam element and a puffy button from the super adorable Keep It Simple Hello Adventure Collection. It’s been quite a while since I’ve made this fun fold and I had forgotten how fun it was to make and to embellish!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White along with layering panels from dotted prints in the Keep It Simple Hello Adventure 12×12 Collection Pack and Flipsides Pack. I stamped a sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set in Memento Esspresso Truffle ink on the focal die cut piece and then added hearts from the Hello Adventure Foam Alpha Bits and Puffy Buttons. The finishing touch was adding several Hello Adventure Enamel Dots.

I embellished the outer panels on the inside with prints in the Keep It Simple Hello Adventure 12×12 Collection Pack and Flipsides Pack. I stamped woodgrain on the two smaller Solar White pop-up panels in Memento Espresso Truffle ink using the Keep It Simple Woodgrain background stamp. Next I added a stamped tree, mushrooms and stump from the Adventure Awaits stamp set along with a stamped fox and sentiment from the Find Your Wild Side stamp set which I colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.

Use all of the Colors

Hey everybody! I hope you’ve had a fabulous week doing whatever it is you do… whether you work outside or at home, or whether you’re retired! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #79 – Anything Goes! Our challenges are always anything goes and we’d love for you join us! I created a cool friendship card featuring a die set I’ve had in my stash for a minute or three and have never used and awesome stamp sets from STAMPlorations and Altenew. I sent it to a very sweet artist friend just to let her know I was thinking about her. ;)

Using the palette die in the Spellbinders Painter’s Palette die set, I cut the card base and front layer from CutCardstock Desert Storm cardstock. Using the remaining dies in the set, I cut the paint blobs, brush and paint tube from CutCardStock Pop Tone Sweet Tooth, Pop Tone Banana Split, Pop Tone Hot Fudge, Pop Tone Red Hot, Pop Tone Orange Fizz, Pop Tone Lemon Drop, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green, Pop Tone Blue Raspberry, Pop Tone Grape Jelly, Pop Tone Razzleberry, Blue Hydrangea, Royal Sundance Linen Midnight Blue, Royal Sundance Linen Burgundy, and Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock.

I stamped the front sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Altenew Mini Paintbox stamp set and the inside sentiment from the STAMPlorations Art Is stamp set. I totally love shaped cards and this one turned out so awesome!

Scrappy hugs,

Awesome Boys Rule

Hi friends! I’m having a really hard time wrapping my head around how fast 2023 went! Wishing all my online friends a happy and prosperous 2024! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #78 – Anything Goes! I’ve made several of these chocolate bar cards and I always love how they turn out! I used a brown paper in the Keep It Simple Farmhouse Fall Collection because it was the perfect shade of brown for the chocolate bar. I also used a plaid paper and stickers from the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys Collection. This collection is on clearance and has been deeply discounted. If you are inclined to go shopping, be sure to use my discount code LoveToScrap2 at checkout to save 10% on your entire order! There is no minimum purchase requirement and no usage limits, plus the code combines with product, order, and shipping discounts!

The 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. The chocolate bar was created using square punches and a brown print in the Keep It Simple Farmhouse Fall Collection. I ran a BR52 alcohol marker around the edge of each of the chocolate bar squares. The plaid layering panel and stickers are from the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys Collection and I used CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil cardstock for the wrapper under the plaid.

The inside panel was cut from Solar White and embellished with a leftover strip of the plaid paper used on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the Keep It Simple Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and layered the panel on the brown paper used for the chocolate bar.

Seize The Cake

Hi friends! So how is the weather where you are? Are you getting any chilly weather, or better yet, any snow?! You know we love our snowy winter weather out here in southwestern Colorado! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #77 – Anything Goes! I made THE cutest birthday card using the Hot Off The Press Cake Box Cutting Dies. I’ve already made a couple box cards using this die set and they sure don’t disappoint! I love these dies and I love how this card turned out! Definitely got some color goin’ on! ;)

I cut the box card base (chocolate cake layers, lol) from CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock and the icing layers from a cute dotted print in the My Favorite Things Sweet Celebration 6×6 paper pack, and assembled the card. I cut the candle and a bunch of flower layers from various prints in the Sweet Celebration paper pack, and the flame from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil cardstock. I assembled the candle and flowers, and adhered them to the card base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Something To Say stamp set in Memento Espresso Truffle ink on a scrap piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and cut it with the fancy die in the HOTP die set. I added a white twine bow along with iridescent gemstones in the flower centers.

I used the middle cake layer die in the set to cut a sentiment panel for the back from Solar White cardstock, and stamped another sentiment from the same Stampin’ Up stamp set in brown ink.

Scrappy hugs,

LOVE phantom die cutting

Howdy peeps! Well, I have to ask… how is the weather where you are? It’s not too awfully bad here in southwestern Colorado. The temps are still a little warm but definitely tolerable. Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #76 – Anything Goes! I had this gorgeous Hot Off The Press paper pack out on my desk from another project and thought it would be so pretty to use to employ the phantom die cutting technique with the Love You die set from Prickley Pear Stamps! I absolutely love big sentiment dies and this turned out so pretty!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from a pretty floral print in the Hot Off The Press Sweet Pea double-sided paper pack. Using the Prickley Pear Stamps Love You dies, I die cut the large LOVE sentiment into the floral layering panel. I die cut the word twice more from CutCardStock Kale Green cardstock, adhered them together and then into the negative space in the floral layering panel, and then adhered the floral one on top. The finishing touch was adding several hearts from the Buttons Galore & More Pink Sparkletz.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the floral print and dark green cardstock used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Memento Northern Pine ink.

Scrappy hugs,

A Sea of Thanks

Howdy peeps! Woah, can you believe it’s July 1st already?! We’re officially into the second half of the year! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #75 – Anything Goes! I used some gorgeous seascapes patterned paper and a side pop-up die set from Hot Off The Press paired with a couple Stampin’ Up stamp sets for this thank you card and I absolutely love how it turned out! I definitely see more of this ‘side pop-up’ style card in my future, lol!

Using the Hot Off The Press Side Pop-Up Card Cutting Dies, I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock along with layering panels from Hot Off The Press Seascapes & Sand 6×6 double-sided papers. I stamped several fish from the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set in Memento Bamboo Leaves, Morocco, Peanut Brittle and Danube Blue inks and punched them with the Stampin’ Up Fish Builder Punch.

I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink and cut it with a My Favorite Things Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips die. The finishing touch was adding several elements from the Buttons Galore & More Beach Mix Upz Embellishments.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# Natural cardstock and embellished it with a strip of the Hot Off The Press Seascapes & Sand paper. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Another Mother’s Day Tulip

Hi friends! A very Happy Monday to you! A new challenge has launched this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #74 – Anything Goes! I make lots of Mother’s Day cards, and this one is very similar to another one I made some time ago using the Concord & 9th Painted Tulip stamp set, which I absolutely love. I actually made two of these which I sometimes do when making cards in batches. It’s such a simple but striking design!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and layering panel from American Crafts White Cardstock. I also cut layering panels from Crafter’s Companion Verity Rose 6×6 paper and CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock. I stamped the tulip from the Concord & 9th Painted Tulip stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black, Angel Pink and Bamboo Leaves inks on the white layering panel. I heat embossed the front sentiment in Hero Arts white embossing powder on black cardstock and trimmed it.

I cut the inside panel from American Crafts White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the Verity Rose patterned paper and Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock used on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the Inspired By Stamping You Are stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Get Better Soon

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day – I hope you’re having a wonderful week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #73 – Anything Goes! Every year I try to use stamps and dies that I’ve had in my stash for a long time (many of them have never seen the light of day) and I typically do pretty well. I believe I’ve used this Band-Aids die set from My Favorite Things once, about 4-5 years ago, so I thought it was time to bring it back out for another play since it’s so stinkin’ cute! A clean and simple get well card in calming shades of blue seemed perfect!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and rounded the lower right corner. I die cut the larger Band-Aid and accompanying elements from a scrap of the Basis Natural and colored them with alcohol markers. I stamped a sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Flourished Borders stamp set in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink.

I simply stamped a sentiment (partly masked) from the Stampin’ Up Something To Say stamp set on the inside in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink without adding any layers or embellishing strips.
