Happy Birthday America

Howdy, peeps! It’s Thursday and I hope you’re having a good week! I’m stoked to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today! To commemorate America’s 250th birthday back on July 4th, I created a patriotic shaker tag card with a vertical split panel fold design that features papers and die cut pieces from our Stars & Stripes collection. I also used our new Tags #2 dies and a bunch of patriotic shaker bits from our Sprinkles line (as well as a few die cuts mixed in)! I love this fun fold, and the fact that it has a patriotic shaker tag on the front makes it even more fun!

I cut the card base from Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with panels from assorted prints in the Stars & Stripes 6×9 Collection Pack. The shaker shows off seven varieties of our patriotic Sprinkles with a few Stars & Stripes Die Cut Pieces mixed in. I used the star dies in the KIS Cuts: Tags #2 set for the main shaker, as well as adhesive and acetate from our Back To Basics Shaker Basics Foam Adhesive & Acetate Sheets.

I used the banner dies in the KIS Cuts: Tags #1 set to cut the three sentiment banners. I stamped two sentiments from the Back To Basics Happy Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink and the third sentiment from the Stars & Stripes Collection Stamps in Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink, and then attached them with a bulb safety pin from my stash. I threaded some of our Stars & Stripes Ribbon through the hole at the top and tied it with some white twine in my stash. Finally, I added a disc magnet to keep the card closed.

I die cut an additional star for the inside that I embellished with leftover pieces of the patterned paper in the Stars & Stripes Collection Pack. The sentiment is from the Stars & Stripes Collection Stamps, stamped in Memento Paris Dusk ink.
