Under the Sea Aquarium

9/15/22 Top 3 at Sparkles Monthly Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m stoked to be back on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Have you ever seen a paper aquarium?! I never have so I made one featuring the Under the Sea Cutting File Scrapbook Title, Cute Mermaid SVG File and Seaweed SVG File! It’s a lot like a box card but 8″ square when standing, has acetate across the front, and it folds flat for mailing if desired!

I started by constructing the aquarium (with two inside strips) from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I cut layering panels for the inside and outside along with die cut waves (using the My Favorite Things Slimline Ocean Motion Die-namics) from The Paper Cut Blue Crinkle Paper, and adhered them in place.

I cut the pieces in the Under the Sea title, assembled it, and adhered it to the back wall of the aquarium. I moved the small seaweed down to the middle wave panel. I then cut the pieces in the Cute Mermaid SVG file after flipping the file, assembled her, and adhered her on the bottom wave panel. I embellished her with pearls and gemstones. Then finally I cut the pieces for one of the options in the Seaweed SVG file, assembled it and adhered it on the bottom wave panel. The final step was adhering a panel of acetate across the front. Acetate is very hard to photograph but this close-up photo actually came out pretty cool-looking because it yields a rippled effect which is somewhat realistic of an underwater scene! I can assure you that all the elements are actually flat! ;)

Here is an overhead shot so you can see the simple box card type construction, and a shot of it folding flat for mailing if desired.

FUN

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope your week has started off nicely! I’m back this morning with the full reveal of the sneak peek I shared on Sunday! The August new release over at Artful Angel consists of Fall Fun, F is For and Extra Chromie stamp sets, and gosh they are all amazing! I was sent Fall Fun to play with and had the best time creating three projects with the cutest little red pandas you’ll ever see! My first inspiration project is a center easel card featuring a super cute little guy playing in the fall leaves!

Using the Creative Craft Products High Center Stepper Card die set, I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock along with layering panels (using the same die set) from coordinating Stamp Anniething Autumn Life 6×6 Double-Sided Papers, and adhered them to the card base. I stamped the panda and leaves images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basis White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them. Using the My Favorite Things In Stitches Alphabet Die-namics, I die cut the F-U-N letters from another patterned paper in the Autumn Life paper pack, and then adhered the letters and the images to the card front. I added Eyelet Outlet 3mm brown pearls and 4mm orange jewels, which completed the card front.

I die cut the back panels from patterned paper from the Autumn Life paper pack and Basis White cardstock, and adhered them to the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Fall Fun stamp set in black ink, cut it with a double-stitched oval die, and adhered it to the panel.

And one more peek from the side so you can see the construction. Easel cards are so fun, especially with such an adorable stamp set, and I love how this turned out!

Thinking of You

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend! I just can’t believe how fast the days are zipping by… so hard to believe we’re on the downslide to the end of August already! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring my favorite Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock that I paired with our textured Blue Hydrangea cardstock, Brown Bag Kraft paper and Beach Side Prints cardstock. I love a blue and brown color combo, and even with a few brown pearls, this card has a masculine feel.

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from Beach Side Prints cardstock and a reversed scallop frame from Blue Hydrangea cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Reversed Scallop Dies. Using the Kat Scrappiness Thinking of You Word Die with Shadow, I cut the sentiment from Blue Hydrangea cardstock and the shadow from Brown Bag Kraft Paper and adhered them together. I adhered the frame to the panel and adhered them to the card base, and then added the sentiment. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet 3mm brown pearls.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from the Beach Side Prints cardstock and Brown Bag Kraft Paper. I cut another reversed scallop frame from Blue Hydrangea cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Reversed Scallop Dies and adhered it to the panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts stamp set in Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink, and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… what a great color combo along with amazing cardstock and dies! Love how this one turned out!

Artful Angel Guest Design Team Sneak Peek!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend and maybe (just maybe?) your weather is starting to cool off a bit! Ours is cooling off just a tad bit and we sure are ready… we’ve had a warm summer here in southwestern Colorado. I have some wonderful news to share! I was invited by the lovely Charis to participate in the August new release over at Artful Angel as a guest designer! This post is somewhat different than my regular posts – it’s a sneak peek and I’m going to show you just a portion of the first project I’ll be sharing in a couple days!

Are you intrigued yet?! The only thing I can tell you is that it’s super cute and worth waiting for the full reveal, so definitely stay tuned!

Scrappy hugs,

love you, Mom

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend, and here’s hoping you have an awesome week coming up! I have a pretty Tape Runner DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring panels created from an alcohol ink piece leftover from a previous project along with a huge stamped flower and layered scalloped vellum panels. And, of course, all panels on this card were adhered with Tape Runner.

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere the die cut sentiment and pearls. I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White along with a die cut scalloped layering panel from Glama Natural Translucent Vellum using My Favorite Things Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX Die-namics. I had a leftover alcohol ink piece on my desk that I had created for my Summer Waves Flip Flop (post HERE if you’re interested in seeing it) so I cut what panels I could from it and adhered them to the card base. I cut the vellum scalloped layering panel in half diagonally, layered the two halves together and trimmed it, and adhered it to the card front opposite the alcohol panel.

Using the Altenew Calming Reverie stamp and die bundle along with Memento Elderberry, Peanut Brittle and Bamboo Leaves inks, I stamped and die cut a large flower and adhered it to the card front. Using the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Grape Jelly ink and die cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions die. The finishing touch was adding several Taylored Expressions Silver Drip Drops.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a narrow strip of CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from The Project Bin Defined stamp set in Memento Grape Jelly ink and layered the panel on dark purple cardstock.

And one more look… love that huge flower which compliments the alcohol ink panel and scalloped vellum panels perfectly! And everything is held together perfectly with Tape Runner! ;)

8/21/22 Rising Star at A Place To Start!
8/21/22 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day! I have some great news to share with you today – I have taken over the Ally’s Angels challenge blog for the lovely Ally who is no longer able to devote the necessary time to keep it running. I’ll only be making a few outward changes to the blog but Ally’s basic structure and rules will remain the same (for now anyway), so come on over and play! All challenges are Anything Goes and we’re in need of a few more designers, so if you have room on your plate, let me know! Only one project a month (due by the 5th), a blog and good photos… easy peasy! My debut DT inspiration project for Challenge #61 is a super cute chocolate bar birthday card I created for my daughter-in-law, and she loved it! Well… who wouldn’t, lol?! This card was featured in a Splitcoast Stampers newsletter a while back HERE, and I thought it was so stinkin’ cute, I just had to make one!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock along with a short panel from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil cardstock and a slightly shorter panel that I covered with Eyelet Outlet Fox & Flowers washi tape which made the wrapper. For the chocolate squares, I punched nine 1″ squares from the Basis Brown cardstock and adhered them to the top portion of the card front. Similarly, I punched nine 3/4″ squares from the brown cardstock and adhered one to the center of each 1″ square with 3-D foam squares. I adhered the two short wrapper panels together and then to the card front. I embellished the wrapper with ephemera and enamel dots from the Scrapbook & Cards Today February 2021 Sampler.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock. I stamped one portion of the sentiment (from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set) in Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and the other portion (from the Stampin’ Up For The Record stamp set) in Delicata Gold Glitz ink, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil cardstock.

And one more peek… don’t you just love this?! You know you want to make one! I do believe this has moved to the number one spot on my list of all-time loves! ;)

School Art Fridge Magnets (set of 6)

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! Still shaking my head at how fast these months are flying by! I’m stoked to be back on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Every parent needs refrigerator magnets to attach their kids’ art work from school, so that was my inspiration for this project using the Back To School SVG Scrap Kit! I typically use the separated SVG files, cut the pieces with my Scan N Cut, and assemble the projects. I did something a little different this time and used the PNG clipart files to print and cut!

I went through the PNG clipart files in the Back To School Scrap Kit and picked out the six images I wanted to use for the magnets. Following my machine’s instructions for Print To Cut projects, I printed the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and cut the outlines. I cut just the outlines four more times from 110# Solar White cardstock, and then adhered the cuts one on top of each other to make each magnet base thick and strong. The finishing touch was adding two disc magnets to the back of each one.

And one more look at the set… I absolutely LOVE how these turned out!

Scrappy hugs,

Merry Christmas Mini Slimline

Hey everybody! A very Happy Saturday to you – another week has come and gone! My sister’s 70th birthday is in two days, and for years now, I’ve said that once her birthday comes and goes, Christmas will be here in no time! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock that I paired with our Basis Red and Basis Green cardstock along with our Gold Glitter cardstock. What a gorgeous traditional Christmas color combo in a mini slimline size which is one of my favorites!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, along with layering panels from Basis Red and Baronial Ivory cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set, and embellishing strips from Gold Glitter and Basis Green cardstock. I cut the poinsettia layers from Basis Red, Basis Green and Gold Glitter cardstock. I assembled the panels and adhered them to the card base, and then adhered the poinsettias. I created a foiled sentiment strip with a Baronial Ivory cardstock scrap and my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Gold Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Holiday Sentiments Series 2 Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I flagged the ends with an EK Success 3/4″ square punch and adhered it to the card front with a Darice double-sided adhesive foam strip. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet red gemstones.

I cut the inside panels from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory and Basis Red cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set. I embellished the ivory panel with strips cut from Gold Glitter and Basis Green cardstock, stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set in Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink, and adhered the panel to the red cardstock layer.

And one more peek… I really love a Christmas card in traditional red and green… as much as I love Christmas cards in non-traditional colors! And I have to say that this die set is one of my favorites!

Birthday Gift Bag with ATCs

8/21/22 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday to you all! My new DT gig with the ScrapbookingStore is in full swing and I’m so loving the versatility of the papers and the embellishment upgrades in this month’s scrapbook kit! While the collection is beach-themed, I created a fun gift bag with a striped paper from the kit which will be used for a birthday. That’s what I mean by versatile! I’m wrapping up August’s shares with this gift bag along with three artist trading coins embellished with stickers from the upgrade sticker sheet to tuck into the gift bag!

Using the Lawn Fawn Goody Bag die from my stash, I cut the front and back pieces of the gift bag from a red and white striped pattern paper in the kit and assembled it.

I embellished the front of the gift bag with a stitched banner (cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock using the JustRite Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles die set) and quite a few stickers, a clothespin, and a yellow sun clip from the embellishment upgrades. I also added some gemstones which completed the front.

Here are few more shots of the gift bag from different angles.

To make the artist trading coins that I tucked into the gift bag, I punched 2-1/2” circles from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and embellished them with CutCardStock Pop Tone Sweet Tooth and Cotton Candy cardstock, American Crafts POW Rouge Glitter Paper, bling, and stickers from the upgrade sticker sheet.

Vacation Time mini slimline

Hi everyone! The fun continues creating ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration projects with the awesome variety of papers and coordinating stickers along with the embellishment upgrades in this month’s scrapbook kit! Have I mentioned how much I’m loving this new DT gig?! Today’s share is a fun vacation mini slimline card! Several friends are vacationing this summer at beaches in various locations and I thought it would be fun to create a card as a send-off to a beach vacation!

I cut a 3-1/2” x 6” mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and used a woodgrain-look patterned paper from the kit as the background. I added a paper strip down the left side, stickers from the coordinating sticker sheet, and a few stickers from the upgrade sticker sheet.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a paper strip, stickers from the coordinating sticker sheet, and die cut alphas. I layered the panel on green patterned paper from the kit which completed the card.

And one more look… such a fun card, and I totally love the little clothesline with beach attire hanging from it!
