Hi friends! I hope you’re having a beautiful weekend! How apropos to post this pretty card today, on Sunday, even though Easter isn’t for another three weeks! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #80! This project was among the final large batch of SVG files that I cut with my Scan N Cut prior to it’s demise a while back. It’s such a pretty design and I love how it turned out in purple and green with just a pop of gold. And before I forget, I want to mention that our challenges at Ally’s Angels will commence on the 15th of the month (and end on the 10th of the following month) beginning in April, which will align nicely with many of the other challenges out there in blogland.

I cut the card base, flap panels, cross and backing, and lilies from CutCardStock Basis White and dry embossed the flap panels with the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy embossing folder (an oldie but goodie). I cut the ring from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil and the cross panel from CutCardStock Pop Tone Grapesicle. Finally, the greenery was cut from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green and Pop Tone Gumdrop Green.

I used the Prickley Pear Stamps Easter Cross stamp set for the sentiment on the back, stamped in Memento Elderberry ink.

Hi friends, Happy Friday! I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I’m delighted to bring you another awesome Keep It Simple DT inspiration project today! I created this fun interlocking gate fold card using papers, stamps and die cut pieces from the new Lucky Day Collection that was released last month! The products in this collection are so much fun and the sky is the limit with what you can create! I do love me some gnomes, especially the lucky kind! I’ve had handwritten instructions for this fun fold in my tutorial arsenal for a number of years and I think I may have gotten my inspiration from THIS tutorial. The card base and oval frame were cut from CutCardStock Scottish Highlands Green cardstock along with layering panels and an oval die cut (using the Stitched Ovals Nested Dies) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I chose a couple coordinating patterned papers in the Lucky Day 6×9 Collection Pack for the front panels and an inside strip.

The image and sentiment were stamped on the oval die cut (the interlocking piece) and colored with alcohol markers, adding accents with an American Crafts Metallic Gold Marker and Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The finishing touch to the front was adding a tiny ScraPerfect iridescent gemstone to the center of his shamrock ‘flower’.

I embellished the patterned paper strip on the inside panel with a die cut strip from the Die Cut Pieces and added a sentiment stamped with the Collection Stamps. I needed to cut a few of the little round elements off the strip so I used one of them on the tip of the gnome’s hat. ;)

Be Mine shutter card

Hey everybody! A good ol’ Happy Thursday to you all! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with the new Sent With Love Collection released in January! This collection has THE best selection of papers, stamps, dies, stencils, and die cut pieces you’ll ever find to make love cards! Be sure to check out the coordinating ribbon, enamel dots and hearts, and Sprinkles, too! I used an assortment of papers, stamps and dies, and you know how much I love me some fun folds… this Valentine shutter card was definitely a win-win!

Unfortunately I don’t have sharable instructions for this shutter card (I’ve had my handwritten notes for many years) but searching ‘shutter card tutorial’ online will bring up lots of resources. Card base and shutter pieces were cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Cherry Red cardstock along with layering panels from assorted prints in the Sent With Love 6×9 Collection Pack. Images on the front and inside were stamped with the Sent With Love Collection Stamps and cut with the coordinating Outline Dies. Some were stamped with Memento Angel Pink ink and Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink, and some were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with alcohol markers.

I used a piece of greenery from the Lumberjack Die Cut Pieces along with green enamel dots from the Bunny Season Collection to embellish the card front. Back To Basics Stitched Circles Nested Dies were used to cut the circle for the front and the aperture on the inside. The image inside the shutter portion was heat embossed and colored with alcohol markers.

3/17/24 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hey everybody! A very happy Tuesday to you and I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a sympathy card using the blackout embossing technique. I used Lessebo White, Lessebo Pitch Black, and Bright Silver Foil cardstock. I was really inspired to try the blackout embossing technique when I saw Lydia’s tutorial in a recent Splitcoast Stampers newsletter HERE. She used several colors of ink on her card which was really pretty. I stuck with a monochromatic black and white color palette with just a pop of silver for my first attempt. I’m so pleased with the depth and texture this technique yields, and will definitely be trying this again with multiple colors. ;)

I cut the card base and a layering panel (for embossing) from Lessebo White cardstock along with additional layering panels from Lessebo Pitch Black and Bright Silver Foil. I spritzed the Lessebo White panel with water in my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and ran it through the Big Shot in the Sizzix Bohemian Botanical 3D Textured Impressions embossing folder.

After allowing the panel to dry for a few minutes, I flipped it over to the debossed (back) side and lightly swiped Catherine Pooler Midnight ink over it multiple times to cover the flat areas. I used the Stampin’ Up Sending Smiles stamp set and Sending dies for the front sentiment, popping the die cut portion up on thick foam squares. I added several Taylored Expressions Silver Drip Drops which completed the card front.

I embellished the inside Lessebo White panel with Lessebo Pitch Black and Bright Silver Foil strips, and stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Best of Greetings stamp set.

3/2/24 Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday! I hope you have a fun weekend planned! I’m stoked to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with the NEW Mason Jar and Accessories that launched yesterday along with some of the new Sprinkles in the store! OMGoodness, cuteness overload and so much fun! For my shaker card, I used the entire suite of Mason Jar products consisting of KIS Cuts Mason Jar, KIS Stamps Mason Jar Labels, KIS Cuts Mason Jar Labels and KIS Stamps Mason Jar Sentiments.

I also used some Polymer Clay and Beads from the Sprinkles line to fill the shaker, and of course I reached for the Rose 12×12 Collection Pack to use for the card base along with some heavyweight white cardstock! Using the KIS Cuts Mason Jar set, I cut a side-folding card base from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth White cardstock and all the mason jar layers from coordinating papers in the Back To Basics Rose 12×12 Collection Pack. As I always say, the assembly is the most fun, and Keep It Simple didn’t skimp on the details in this set! Just look at all those layers – it’s amazing!

I created a shaker mix from KIS Sprinkles Polymer Clay – Pink Strawberry & Jewels, KIS Sprinkles Beads – 2mm Matte Pale Pink, and KIS Sprinkles Beads – 2mm Caviar Glass Pale Pink. The final touch was adding a label stamped with KIS Stamps Mason Jar Sentiments and KIS Stamps Mason Jar Labels and then cut with KIS Cuts Mason Jar Labels.

I stamped another sentiment on the inside from the KIS Stamps Mason Jar Sentiments and embellished it with a die cut heart (die from the KIS Cuts Mason Jar Labels).

3/8/24 Top Cut at Cut It Up Challenges!

Using the Keep It Simple Backpack Mini Album Dies, I cut the album base and pages from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock and layering panels from an assortment of papers in the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys Collection Pack. I used Keep It Simple Clear Enamel Dots on the top flap and pocket flap with magnets beneath them for the closures. I used orange ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon for the shoulder straps. I created a side folding card to tuck into the front pocket.

Here are all the inside pages showing the pull outs and pull downs. Each page was embellished with die cuts (square, circle, oval and rectangle shapes cut from Basis 80# White and prints from the Collection using the Keep It Simple stitched nesting dies), journaling cards and/or stickers from the sticker sheet. I made sure there is plenty of room for photos and journaling.

Hello shaker

Hi friends! Wow, can you believe it’s March 1st already! Has the weather started warming up any where you are? It’s still pretty chilly here but it’s not unbearable. Our new challenge is live this morning over at the newly re-structured Christmas [or not] BINGO Challenges and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for ConBC #6 – Anything Goes with Featured BINGO Card! I went with Column B this time and used the enamel dots, frame, shaker and clean and simple options for my card. I used two different kinds of confetti and a square shaker pouch from This Calls For Confetti along with some of my favorite sentiment dies from STAMPlorations!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut a frame from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock using a My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scalloped Square and a Keep It Simple Stitched Squares Nesting Die. Next, I trimmed a STAMPlorations Watercolor ATC Journaling Card to fit behind the frame and adhered it to the card base. I affixed a This Calls For Confetti square shaker pouch to the back side of the frame with 1/8″ red liner tape.

I added a pinch of Opalescent Island Blue Sequins and a pinch of Iridescent Clear Sequin Confetti (both from This Calls For Confetti) and sealed the shaker with foam strips. I added a sentiment cut from Solar White and Lagoon cardstock using the STAMPlorations Skinny Sentiments dies. The finishing touch was adding a few Eyelet Outlet White Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a scalloped border cut from the Lagoon cardstock using a My Favorite Stamps Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Eden’s Garden stamp set in Catherine Pooler Cummerbund ink.

For Every Moment, There Is A Song

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Birthstone Challenges and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for BSC #8 – Aquamarine & Diamond + optional Birthday! I totally love these colors and have created an adorable pop up birthday card using some awesome stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. The construction of this card is exactly like a diorama card but without an aperture. Super easy!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Keep It Simple Celebrate The Little Things Collection Pack. Using the My Favorite Things Turntable Die-namics, I cut the pieces from CutCardStock Astrobright Eclipse Black, Stardream Metallic Aquamarine and Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock along with scraps from the Celebrate The Little Things Collection Pack. As I always say, the assembly was the most fun!

I added a music border and music notes (to the front and inside flap) cut from Astrobright Eclipse Black using the CC Designs Music border die and the Paper Smooches Music Notes dies. Front and inside sentiments were stamped from the My Favorite Things Keep On Rockin’ stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and layered on scraps of Stardream Metallic Aquamarine. And, of course, this fun card folds flat for mailing!

Making Spirits Bright inchie album

3/14/24 Top 3 at Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog!

Hey everybody! Happy first day of March… time is flying by and I’m telling ya – it’ll be Christmas before we know it! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #55 – Anything Christmas Goes! I mentioned a while back that I’ve started a new collection of inchie albums (or mini books) and have made several. They are so fun and so stinkin’ cute! I have used Gecko Galz inchies for all of them because they are super cute images and the perfect 1″ square size!

I printed the Gecko Galz Snow Much Fun Jewel It digital sheet on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and punched the eight images I wanted to use with an EK Success 1″ square punch. I crafted the album base from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock and covered it with a patterned paper from the Hot Off The Press Christmas Memories 6×6 double-sided papers. These HOTP paper packs always include several sheets of ephemera which coordinate beautifully with the papers, which I love. So I cut a piece of ephemera for the front cover and added a green gemstone. I edged the cover and pages with a copper chrome marker from Let’s Resin which completed the project.

Home Sweet Home mini album

Hey everybody! I hope you’ve got some fun planned this weekend… and maybe your weather is warming up just a slight bit and looking toward Spring?! It’s a busy morning here with seven of my eight challenge blogs launching new challenges. This project is for Mix It Up Challenge Blog where MIUCB #70 – Anything Goes + optional Fancy Fold is live and we’d love to see your project with two or more folds – or straight anything goes if that’s your jam! I had a large time creating this house-themed mini album (tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers HERE) using the Keep It Simple Namaste Home Collection.

The mini album base and roof were cut from CutCardStock Twine 12×12 cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the Keep It Simple Namaste Home Collection. I scalloped the edges of the roof with the Stampin’ Up Scalloped Edge Punch, and then used Me & My Big Ideas washi tape, Keep It Simple Clementine pearls, and stickers from the Namaste Home sticker sheet to embellish the roof and all the sections. I used a couple disc magnets for the closure, and added a bow fashioned from some Ellen Hutson teal ribbon.

And here it is folded flat for mailing!
