Howdy peeps! I hope you’re having a great day! I’ve popped in this afternoon with my second post of the day to share a Keep It Simple inspiration project created with the new Backpack Mini Album Dies that were also released two days ago! You know how I love me some mini albums and I just had to create one with a Winter theme to document all those fun Winter activities! I’ve made several backpack mini albums over the years with old handwritten instructions, and you can’t even imagine how excited I am to have a set of dies to make them! I cut the album base and pages from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock and layering panels from coordinating papers in the new Penguin party 6×9 Collection Pack.

I embellished the pages with stitched ovals, circles, rectangles and squares cut with the Nested Dies along with an assortment of die cuts from the Penguins and Phrases Die Cut Pieces. There are also pull-ups and pull-outs on several of the pages. I used Lilac Ribbon for the straps and Lilac Enamel Dots for the closures (along with velcro circles). I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together and it won’t be long before I make another one! ;)

Sending Hugs & Kisses

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! It’s been snowing on and off for a couple days here and we have about a foot on the ground with lots of drifts because it has been pretty windy, too. Definitely good days to stay inside and craft! I’m thrilled to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with the new Sent With Love Collection! This collection was just released two days ago and it’s plum full of gorgeous papers, stamps, dies, die cut pieces, and stencils! There are ribbons and enamel shapes already in the store that coordinate very nicely with this collection, AND there are new shaker bits!

I created a rotating center circle fun fold featuring papers and die cut pieces from this new collection, and I totally love how it turned out! My inspiration came from Purple_Girl_Crafts on You Tube and her video for this one is HERE. So fun! The square card base was cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Cherry cardstock. I used coordinating papers from the 6×9 Collection Pack for the layering panels and rotating circle mechanism, and added die cuts from the Sent With Love Die Cut Pieces to the center of the circle. Since the star of the show is on the inside, I added a back panel which I embellished with a strip from another coordinating paper and a die cut sentiment.

Warm Winter Wishes Ornament

Hey everybody! Happy Monday – the Mondays sure do seem to roll around fast these days! I’ve popped in this morning to share my first inspiration project as a Pajama Crafter Stamps DT member! Pajama Crafter Stamps is the new home of the Prickley Pear Stamps brand and the Pajama Crafter Stamps line! I created an ornament featuring the adorable Sliding By stamp set from the Pajama Crafter Stamps new release! How stinkin’ cute is this penguin?! And I love using non-traditional colors for Winter-themed projects!

I’ve had the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial for the diamond shaped ornament (HERE) in my arsenal for quite some time and have never made one, so I decided it was time! I stamped the penguin on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with alcohol markers, and cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Die. Similarly, I stamped the sentiment on a Solar White scrap and trimmed it into a flag. I used Keep It Simple double-sided pink paper for the ornament and Rose ribbon for the bow, along with Really Reasonable Ribbon silver metallic cord for the hanger. I embellished the ornament with individual sequin bits pulled from the Buttons Galore & More Blizzard Sequin Mix.

All About You

Hey everybody! A very Happy Monday to you! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super easy masculine card! I found a version of this on Pinterest and it could be tailored to any occasion and made in any color combo. Masculine cards are a stash ‘must-have’ so I created this in Lessebo Sunflower Yellow, Navy Blue and White along with Bright Silver Foil. The Lessebo line has quickly won my heart and I find I’m reaching for it alot!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Lessebo White cardstock along with wide strips from Lessebo White and Sunflower Yellow. I used Lessebo Navy Blue and Bright Silver Foil cardstock for the front layering panels, and ran the silver panel through the Big Shot in the Darice Diamond Plate Pattern embossing folder.

Using the Spellbinders Standard Circles, I cut thin rings from Sunflower Yellow and Navy Blue and adhered them beneath the horizontal strip, and then attached the strip to the front panels with two screw brads that I believe are from The Funkie Junkie Boutique. I’ve had them for a very long time and they are not in the original package so I’m guessing. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Kokopelli-Happy Birthday stamp set in Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of Bright Silver Foil and Lessebo Sunflower Yellow, Navy Blue and White. I stamped another sentiment from the Kokopelli-Happy Birthday stamp set in blue ink and layered the panel on Navy Blue.

1/19/24 Top 3 at My Time To Craft Christmas!

Hey everybody! Well, another week is behind us and we’re headed into a glorious weekend! A little chilly but absolutely wonderful! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project today created with the amazing Snow Day Collection! This collection was released back in mid October and the fun continues with the snow globe die cut into the front flap on this Winter-themed card! The card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar white cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the 6×9 Collection Pack. The snow globe and inside scene (from the Snow Globe stamps) were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with a variety of markers, and cut with the coordinating Snow Globe Outline Dies. The snowy background inside the snow globe was stamped in Catherine Pooler Tranquil ink (using the Snow Background stamp), then again in Versamark, and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

I die cut the snow globe shape into the front flap and then assembled it behind the patterned paper layer. I added several snowflakes stamped with the Snow Day stamps and die cut with the coordinating Snow Day Outline Dies, along with a couple clear enamel dots on the bottom strip.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the patterned paper used on the front. The sentiment was stamped using the Snow Day Stamps and cut with the coordinating Snow Day Outline Dies, and then the panel was layered on a red paper from the 12×12 Collection Pack.

Hey everybody! I hope your New Year has started off with a bang – it’s mind-blowing that it’s here already! You Don’t Look a Day over Fabulous

1/7/24 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi friends! I hope you had a fabulous New Year’s Eve and you’re ready to embrace 2024! Our new challenge is live this morning over at the newly restructured and renamed Christmas [or not] BINGO Challenges formerly known as Christmas BINGO Challenges. We’re no longer strictly a Christmas challenge… we’ve opened up our challenges to ALL occasions which means you are welcome to create a project for ANY holiday, season or occasion using the featured BINGO card. I’m thrilled to share my inspiration project for ConBC #5 – Anything Goes with Featured BINGO Card – I went with Column O this time and featured layers, stitching and rectangle on this birthday card. I used a variety of dies for a tone-on-tone look with a splash of color, and I love how it turned out!

The 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base and two mini slimline layers (using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Postage Stamp Edge Dies and Mini Slimline Quilted Backdrop Die) were cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I also stamped the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 stamp set on Solar White, fussy cut it and set it aside. I used the Spellbinders Artful Tulip die set and a variety of CutCardStock Lessebo, Pop Tone and foil cardstock to create the focal image on this card. The finishing touch was adding Want2Scrap white pearls to the background.

The inside panel was cut from Solar White cardstock using a Mini Slimline Postage Stamp Edge Die. I stamped another sentiment from the My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 stamp set, and added a leftover tulip from the focal image on the front.

Babies are a Blessing

2/29/24 Design Team Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hey everybody! How’s the weather where you are on this awesome first day of January?! It’s pretty darn chilly here but us ‘chill mongers’ don’t mind! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Birthstone Challenges and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for BSC #7 – Anything Goes with Garnet & Amethyst + optional NEW BEGINNINGS (new job, new home, new baby, etc.) First up is some news about our challenges – we’ve been playing straight anything goes with the featured birthstone colors since we started this new challenge in January 2023, so we’re adding an optional theme to each challenge this year for a little interest. Just remember, the themes are optional and not required to play. Participants are more than welcome to continue playing ‘anything goes’ but we’d love to see some creativity with the themes!

I opted for a new baby theme and created an adorable baby card using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the Baby Belly Card SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick. I’ve made a couple of these cards previously and I love this cut file so much that I just had to make another one!

I used a variety of cardstock from CutCardStock – Basis Natural for the baby’s body and front sentiment, Curious Metallic Violette for the diaper, Astrobrights Eclipse Black for the baby’s mouth, Basis Dark Red and Bright Silver Foil for the diaper pin, and Cougar Smooth White for the baby’s tooth. Prior to assembling the card, I inked the edges of the pieces with Ranger antique linen distress ink for some definition and then used tattered rose distress ink for the cheeks. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set in Memento Elderberry ink and cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes die set.

I cut the inside layer from Cougar Smooth White. The inside sentiment is also from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set, stamped in Memento Elderberry ink and cut with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes die set. I added a heart that I die cut from Basis Dark Red (using a die in the same set).

Beary Merry Christmas

Hey everybody! Wishing you a truly Magical Monday! I always love January 1st because it represents everything new – new year, new beginnings, new challenges! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #54 – Anything Christmas Goes! We’d love to see your first Christmas project of the year! I used a couple older Stampin’ Up sets for this adorable clean and simple card along with some fun buttons!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base and layering panel from CutCardStock Twine cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I added strips of Eyelet Outlet red dotted and skinny gold washi tape across the bottom of the layering panel and stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The final touch was adding a sweet Christmas bear button from the Buttons Galore & More Santa’s Grab Bag along with three tiny buttons from their Christmas Tiny Buttons pack.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Twine cardstock, embellished it with strips of Eyelet Outlet red dotted and skinny gold washi tape, and stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Peaceful Pines stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
