Time With Friends fun fold

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’ve popped in this morning with my second post to share a Syncopation Design inspiration project! I was gifted the super adorable Cat Therapy stamp set, and of course, being a Crazy Cat Lady, all kinds of ideas were swimming through my head! It has been a minute since I created a shutter card (shutter – as in camera) and I once again tried my hand at it and used several of the images in this stamp set. I love how it turned out! If you are a fellow cat person, you need this stamp set in your stash – it has over 50 stamps in it!

I cut the card base, inside pieces and belly band from CutCardStock Sno Cone cardstock, along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the Basic Grey Marjolaine 6×6 paper pad and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I stamped several images and sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Cat Therapy stamp set on Solar White, fussy cut them and adhered them to the belly band. I stamped a paw print and sentiment on the card front in black ink, and added several turquoise pearls.

I used circle punches to create an aperture on the inside for the shutter mechanism, and added a sticker from the 7 Gypsies Architextures Create Stash Paque. Here is a shot of the shutter opening up.

And here is a shot of the shutter completely open revealing another adorable kitty from the stamp set getting in some ‘me time.’ How stinkin’ cute is this?!

Meowy Christmas

Hey everybody! It’s Hump Day and I hope your week is going great! It’s turning out to be a busy morning on my blog – I’ve posted a couple design team projects and now I’m back with another post just for fun! You all know that Ed and I are ‘crazy cat people’ and you may remember me participating in the last four Cat Lovers Hops organized by my friend, Janis Woolbright. Sadly, Janis passed away on January 6th of this year (which is also my dad’s birthday) and one of her friends is organizing the 2023 Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge in her honor! How cool is that?! I didn’t know about it until Jo commented on one of my projects several days ago. I’ve been busy with design team work but was able to squeeze in a cat-themed Christmas card to enter into the challenge. There is a limit of six projects over the entire month of October, so I think I’ll be able to make five more! I’m very touched to have been invited to participate! Janis was a wonderful person and is missed by many. <3

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding bi-level card base (front flap shorter than the back flap, either horizontally or vertically) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and ran the short flap through my Big Shot with a Paper Smooches Stitched Borders die. I grabbed my American Crafts Christmas Holiday Prints and Christmas Prints 6×6 paper pads and cut a side panel and several flags which I created with the Stampin’ Up Banner Triple Punch.

I adhered the flags to the card front along with a sparkly black cat die cut in my stash (I don’t remember where it came from) and an Eyelet Outlet Santa Hat Brad. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and added several clear gemstones which completed the card front.

I stamped the inside sentiment from the same Simon Says Stamp stamp set, and the card was complete! Super easy design that would be really easy to mass produce for everybody on your Christmas list! And this particular card is in honor of our dear friend, Janis, so that makes it even more special!

Something Wicked fun fold

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome October 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I’m totally in love with all the coordinating products in this collection and created a spooky pop up block card. My inspiration for this fun fold came from Lisa Curcio, a SU demonstrator who posted it on Instagram. You know I’m always on the look-out for new ones to make – this is my first attempt at this particular one and I love how it turned out! It features papers and stickers from this month’s collection along with a tag and enamel dots from the upgrades, and really is quite simple despite it’s complex look!

I cut the card base and blocks from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange cardstock and embellished the pieces with coordinating papers from the kit which I layered on CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. The focal element is a tag from the Frames & Tags in the upgrades which I layered on a scrap piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished with a Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine bow. I added a bat sticker from the sticker sheet and several enamel dots from the upgrades.

I cut the back panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of coordinating paper from the kit and Basis Black cardstock. I added a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet and layered the panel on black cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

Hello Friend

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope your week has started off nicely! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #75! I created a pinwheel twist card using my Scan N Cut, a cut file and some really pretty patterned paper from Hot Off The Press. I’ve made several 4-sided pinwheel twist cards using a cut file but have also learned to make them by hand-cutting the card base and panels (even a 6-sided one), and either way, they are fun and easy to make!

Using my Scan N Cut and the Haunted House Pinwheel Twist Card cut file (just the base pieces) from My Scrap Chick, I cut the card base and panels from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Violette cardstock and coordinating patterned papers from Hot Off The Press Lilacs In Bloom 6×6 papers. I assembled the card, adding ephemera from the paper pack to three sides and an 80# Solar White panel to the fourth side for a handwritten message and/or signature.

When witches go riding

Hey everybody! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with a super cute almost-one-layer card featuring a cat and two bats from the Scary Cat & Bats stamp set that I paired with some digital Halloween paper in my stash. This is a super easy design in traditional Halloween colors that packs a punch!

I already had several patterns of the Printable Cuttable Creatables Halloween Treats Digital Paper Pack (printed on 65# Hammermill copy paper) out on my desk from another project, so I cut two pieces into rectangles and then diagonally into long triangles. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and rounded the bottom right corner. I adhered two of the long triangles to the left side, then stamped the sentiment in Memento Grape Jelly ink. I stamped the cat and two bats in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and that completed the card. Easy peasy!

Autumn-my favorite time of year

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I’m stoked to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today! This sweet mini bendi card was created with papers and die cut pieces from the newly re-released Farmhouse Fall Collection! This is definitely a wonderful time of the year and all the products in this collection are just amazing and make the most wonderful Autumn- and Fall-themed projects!

I cut the mini bendi card base, elements and layering panels from double-sided papers in the 12×12 Cardstock Pack, 12×12 Collection Pack and the 6×9 Collection Pack. I grabbed quite a few pieces of ephemera from the Falling For You Die Cut Pieces and went to town putting it all together! The finishing touch was adding a couple Jade Enamel Dots to horizontal panel. This was definitely a fun one!

I used the Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut two panels from CutCardStock Basis Natural cardstock for the back, and added a couple more pieces of ephemera to complete the card.

Scrappy hugs,

‘thanks’ lattice card

Hey everybody! Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to me! I’m officially Medicare age today – my Medicare Advantage Plan started on the 1st and I couldn’t be happier! It’s sad when Medicare makes a girl happy! Bahahaha! But you’d totally understand this if you knew how crappy my insurance has been since I retired three years ago.

I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a pretty DT inspiration project featuring our Cougar Smooth White and Pop Tone Berrylicious cardstock! Lattice cards seem to be sweeping the internet lately and they are so pretty! And surprisingly easy! My inspiration for the lattice card came from THIS tutorial. I became a Stampin’ Up demonstrator back about 8-9 years ago under Brandy, and even though I didn’t stick with it, I still enjoy watching her videos. Our cards are a little different – she made a lattice split card and I made a regular top-folding version with a couple other changes.

I cut the card base and lattice strips from Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with a backing panel from Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock. I assembled the lattice and added the backing panel with double-sided foam strips. I laminated a piece of deco foil Glass Slipper transfer sheet to a piece of deco foil Peel N Stick toner sheet, then die cut the ‘thanks’ sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp thanks die.

I stamped the floral image from the Unity Stamp Co. Big Summertime Bouquet stamp set twice in Catherine Pooler Twilight ink on Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them. I adhered the florals to the lattice along with the sentiment and added several iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock and embellished it with two thin strips of Pop Tone Berrylicious cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set in Catherine Pooler Twilight ink and cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes die. I layered the panel on Berrylicious cardstock, which completed the card.

Sending Well Wishes

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! I shaking my head at how fast this year has flown by… so hard to believe we’re in the first week of October already! I’m delighted to share that I’m guest designing once again for Cut It Up Challenges, and the theme for Challenge #288 is Favorite Color(s)! Green has always been my favorite color (although I have several others that rank right up there with it) so I went with several shades of green and several different patterned papers for this diorama get well card.

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with layering panels from several green papers in the Keep It Simple Jade 12×12 Collection Pack. Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Squares Nested Dies, I cut a square into the inside flap and retained it for use on the front.

Using the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set, Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls, Sage, Spruce, and Eucalyptus inks, and the coordinating Fish Builder Punch, I created two fish for the front and two for the inside. I adhered two of the fish on the die cut square, popping one up on a foam strip, and stamped a sentiment (from the same stamp set) in the bottom center of the square. The finishing touch was adding several light green gemstones.

I cut the background seascape panel from a scrap in the Hot Off The Press Seascapes & Sand 6×6 double-sided paper pack and added the other two fish (one popped up on a foam strip) and several more light green gemstones. Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies, I cut a rectangle from a lighter green paper in the Keep It Simple Jade Collection Pack and adhered it beneath the aperture. I stamped another sentiment from the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set, leaving room for a signature.

You Warm My Heart

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday afternoon! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the new You Warm My Heart digital card kit created ‘on the fly’ by Prickley Pear Stamps artist, Kayla Ruble, for Joy to use for her live today at the 2023 Virtual Maker’s Retreat! What a great job this artist did in record time! This sweet digital card kit includes two black and white line images, two pre-colored images, snowflake and heart background paper, and a sentiment panel. I used the kit to create an adorable holiday gate fold card!

Be sure to pop over and check out the happenings at the Makers Retreat going on October 3-7! Before I get to my project details, here are a few links that will surely come in handy:

I cut a standard A2 size gate fold card base from CutCardStock Basis White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Pop Tone Red Hot cardstock and the background paper in the digital card kit which I printed on Basis White. I created a layered oval panel using the Keep It Simple Stitched Ovals Nested Dies along with the sentiment panel in the kit and the Red Hot cardstock. I adhered a fussy cut pre-colored image to the panel and colored the heart on the coffee cup with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I affixed Eyelet Outlet red and white polka dot washi tape to Basis White cardstock strips which I adhered down both sides. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones to the snowflakes.

I cut the inside panel from Basis White and embellished it with a CutCardStock Blue Hydrangea cardstock strip and a washi tape strip. I stamped a sentiment from the Santa Koala and Mrs Claus stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

The Moon Made Me Do It

Hey everybody! Happy Sunday and first day of October! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’m having THE best time creating inspiration projects for Keep It Simple using items in the A Wee Bit Wicked Collection! The possibilities are literally endless for making too-cute-to-spook projects with all these fun stamps, dies, and die cut pieces! I created an adorable half-flap fun fold in one of my favorite color combos of yellow and purple using quite a few items in the collection and paper from two other collections!

I cut the standard A2 size side folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, cut the front flap in half horizontally, and adhered the top flap to the card base. I cut layering panels from yellow cardstock in the Craft Mode 6×9 Cardstock Pack and adhered them to the card base. I stamped a cluster of stars from The Moon Made Me Do It Stamps on the top panel and a large sentiment (from the same stamp set) on the bottom panel.

I stamped the moon, clouds, and a bat (also from the same stamp set) on Solar White cardstock and cut them with the coordinating The Moon Made Me Do It Outline Dies. I filled in the moon with Catherine Pooler Pixie Dust ink and colored the crevices with a Kirarina Wink violet marker. I affixed the bat to the moon, popping it up on a small foam square. I die cut several stars from CutCardStock Basis Black using the Halloqueen Sentiments Outline Dies and added them to the top and bottom panels.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock, adhered a sentiment from the Cards and Phrases Die Cut pieces, and layered the panel on purple cardstock from the Pajama Party 6×9 Cardstock Pack.
