2/8/21 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Hubby had a doctor appointment this morning and then we ran a few errands, so we are just now getting home. Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I have a fun CAS card to share that I made yesterday for The Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge. ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ is the rhyme for the new challenge that started yesterday so let me introduce to you my star struck chicken! This image is from Sherry West Art who is our sponsor this time! I did LOL (literally) a few times while making this card! I don’t even know the name of this image – it was a freebie in Sherry’s Facebook Group – but isn’t it a hoot?!

I created a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I printed the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock as well and colored it with alcohol markers, trimmed it and layered it on yellow cardstock and then black. I stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Hey Ostrich stamp set in black ink and added some stars to fit the theme for the challenge. I lucked out having this awesome stamp set in my stash with sentiments that go so well with this chicken image!

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of black and yellow cardstock, stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.

And one more look… how hilarious! Love how this turned out!

its your BIG day

Hi everyone! I’m back with one more project I created last Thursday for The Outlawz Challenges! That was the day that I set a record in my studio – ten cards in one day. I finished two that I had already started and then created eight more. Several were for The Outlawz, several were for two guest gigs coming up and several were with new products for another design team I’m on. Definitely a busy and productive day for sure! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! This card is for the Twisted Thursdays Challenge where Fabrika Fantasy is our sponsor. The challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist. This time the twist is Glitter! I used loose glitter, glitter paper and glitter washi tape for this birthday card!

This card features the Cottage Cutz Sweet Fairy die set. It has a gazillion pieces so I die cut them all from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and colored them individually with alcohol markers. It brought back childhood memories of coloring my paper doll clothes back in the day! The little fairy was created first and set aside. I used loose glitter on her wings. ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base along with a white layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and dotted and striped silver foil vellum panels which I adhered to the layering panel. I added a strip of red glitter washi tape to the seam and then adhered the panel to the card base. I punched several 1/2″ circles from Stampin’ Up Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and adhered them over top of the foiled dots in random places. I adhered the fairy on foam dimensionals and added a sentiment stamped in navy blue ink to pull in the color of her dress. The final touch was adding tiny iridescent gemstones to the stars on the sentiment strip and larger iridescent gemstones on several of the foiled dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and embellished it with a wide strip of the striped silver foil vellum and a strip of red glitter washi tape, stamped the sentiment in navy blue ink and layered the panel on CutCardStock Red Wagon cardstock.

And one more peek… totally loving how this turned out! It’ll be set aside for a very special granddaughter’s birthday later this year! ;)

1/17/21 Winner at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends!
2/10/21 Favorite at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge!

Happy Sunday, everybody! I hope your day is as beautiful as you are! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve been having some fun in my studio and have popped in this morning to share a clean and simple masculine card that I created on Thursday to enter into The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge! Our sponsor this month is Sherry West Art and the challenge is to use black and white plus one color from the inspiration photo, with an optional twist of adding a circle. In addition to black and white, I used tan, and I’m playing the twist with the travel globe as my circle.

This is the photo inspiration we were given. I saw neutral tan, and rather than use kraft cardstock, I colored the tan elements on my card with a Nuvo alcohol marker.

I cut a top folding A2 size card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut a piece of black cardstock at an angle and adhered it to the bottom of the card base. I cut a narrow strip of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock at a very slight angle, colored it with the tan alcohol marker and adhered it across the top of the black cardstock. I die cut the travel globe pieces from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored them with tan and black alcohol markers, and assembled it. I applied a STAMPlorations Shine Bright Clear Stickers sentiment to a scrap of white cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the bottom left. I adhered the travel globe on foam dimensionals and added several different sizes of black gemstones to complete the front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a wide strip of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock that I colored with the tan alcohol marker along with a narrow strip of black cardstock. I applied another STAMPlorations Shine Bright Clear Stickers sentiment and layered the panel on black cardstock.

And one more peek… totally loving the masculine feel of this!

1/15/21 Winner at The Outlawz Songs & Rhymes Challenge!

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in this evening to share a card I created Thursday for The Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge and then forgot to post it! Our sponsor this month is Katy’s Card Emporium and the song/rhyme is about reindeer, so I created a sweet forest scene with a buck and his young buck. ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from green cardstock and Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock layers for the front and inside. I cut a couple Christmas trees from the same green cardstock, the two deer from brown cardstock and a moon from a pale yellow cardstock scrap, and arranged them on the front panel. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, trimmed it and flagged one end, and layered it on a brown cardstock scrap which I trimmed leaving a small border.

I embellished the inside panel very simply with a narrow strip of brown cardstock, stamped the sentiment in green and brown inks, and adhered it to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… such a simple design that took less than 30 minutes to create! Love it when that happens!; )

It’s raining CATS and DOGS!

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you had a great week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun cat and dog card inspired by our rescued feline fur babies. My husband and I are ‘crazy cat people’ and we have ten, and all but one are rescued. We love dogs too (in fact, we love ALL kinds of animals) but have found that cats tend to be easier if we decide to take a weekend trip. If you’re interested, you can read all about our fur babies HERE.

I created a top fold card base and a slightly smaller background panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I created a computer-generated sentiment which I printed on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and adhered across the top of the panel, then put a strip of Weather Washi Tape just beneath it. Then the fun began adding Cat Quicklet Eyelets and Dog Quicklet Eyelets in a ‘raining-down’ fashion. I’ve never used quicklets before and these were so easy to set with a ballpoint pen! I adhered a piece of light blue cardstock to the card base, then adhered a piece of light blue craft foam to the back of the panel, and adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of the washi tape and the light blue cardstock used on the front, stamped the sentiment in black ink, and layered the panel on the light blue cardstock.

And one more peek… such a fun card! LOVE these cat and dog quicklets!

Sending Hugs Across the Miles

2/8/21 Rising Star at A Place To Start!
2/8/21 Top Pick at Jan’s Digi Stamps Challenges!

Hi everyone! A big Happy Friday to you! I hope you have something fun planned for this weekend! I’m sitting here chuckling while I’m posting another front step card fold… one yesterday and one today! Well, who am I kidding?! I LOVE this fold and it has quickly become my ‘go-to’ fun fold since discovering it last summer! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! This card is for The Outlawz January Freebie/Progressive Challenge where Jan’s Digi Stamps is our sponsor this month! Those of us who regularly play in this challenge were gifted the gorgeous Fall PEAR-fection digital image along with a sentiment that I used on the back of my card which I paired with a stamped sentiment on the front.

Pink and green is one of my all-time favorite color combos. I branched out a bit this time and went with a salmon-pink card base and green paper layers – and I love it! I printed the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers, cut it with a stitched oval die and layered it on a slightly larger stitched oval die cut. I stamped the sentiment across the top in dark green ink and added some salmon-pink Sprinkles in the corners.

For the back panel, I printed the sentiment on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, trimmed it and added strips of green paper and salmon cardstock across the top.

And one more peek… I’m sure you can see why this fold is one of my favorites! It’s different, it’s versatile and I love that it folds flat for mailing!

Believe

1/31/21 DT Favorite Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! I hope your first week of the New Year has been a good one! I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’m once again guesting for Scrapping4fun Challenges! One of my projects was a Featured Creation last month and I was offered a guest design spot in Challenge #183 – Anything Goes, so here I am! Polkadoodles is our sponsor for this challenge and I have lots of their digital products in my stash, so I dug into the Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna Download Kit for the image and papers I wanted to use for this front step card which is one of my favorite fun folds!

I created the card base from Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse cardstock. I printed three coordinating Polkadoodles digital papers, a round element, two merged pre-colored images and two sentiments on HP 32# copy paper and trimmed them. I layered the focal image on gold foil cardstock and set it aside. I adhered panels cut from the three digital papers to the card base and then adhered the focal image and a layered sentiment to the front along with three 8mm green cut jewels across the bottom.

I embellished the back panel with a leftover strip of the plaid paper and the round element that I punched with a 1-1/4″ circle punch, and layered the panel on the plain green paper.

And one more look… totally loving this fold! It’s easy to adjust the measurements if necessary (I made this one a little taller to accommodate the focal image) and it folds flat for mailing!

Happy mother’s day

2/8/21 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Howdy, friends! I hope your week is going great – tomorrow is Friday already and we are a week into January! Time is flying by! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in to share a hybrid Mother’s Day card that I’m entering in The Outlawz Festive Fridays Challenge that ends this evening. Our sponsor is Fred She Said, and participants have the option to choose from New Year, Christmas, Thinking of You and Anything Goes themes – and I chose Anything Goes. I was in my studio all day and I think I set an all-time record… ten cards made in one day. I finished two that I started earlier in the week and then made eight more. I woke up with ideas running through my head so I knew it was going to be a productive day, lol!

I used a Create-A-Card die set to cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then cut layers from red cardstock with the next smaller size die. I printed the focal image for the front and a single flower image for the inside on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and cut them with the next smaller size layering die. I stamped the front sentiment in black ink on a scrap of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, trimmed it, and layered it on two additional pieces of cardstock for a little dimension. I adhered the panels together and then adhered them to the front of the card base, and then added some Crystal Drops.

I stamped the inside sentiment (from the same stamp set) in black ink on the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock panel, adhered it to the Tomato Soup panel, and adhered them to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! I really do like the look of a shaped card!

1/15/21 Top 3 Winner at Alphabet Challenge Blog!

Howdy, friends! A very Happy Saturday to you! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a masculine card featuring some of the coolest brads I’ve ever seen paired with black enamel dots! Masculine made easy! ;)

I created a standard A2 size top-folding cardstock from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I lightened a photo of a United States map I had on my laptop, printed it on 60# Hammermill copy paper and trimmed it down to use as the background for my card. I created a highway using a punch for the center lines and adhered it at an angle across the map. I stamped the sentiment in black ink, added three Motorcycle Brads and three Black Enamel Dots, and layered the panel on black cardstock. That’s it… it was THAT easy! ;)

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and adhered a strip of the map and black cardstock down the left side, stamped the sentiment in black ink, and layered the panel on black cardstock.

And one more look… what a fun card! If you’re a fellow biker, you know we ride in groups! ;)

be authentic

Hi friends! Happy Friday and Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had a most awesome week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #45- Anything Goes + Bleaching! I created an inspirational card using the bleaching technique along with heat embossing. Come on and play with us – don’t be afraid of using bleach on your project… it’s fun!

Leslie

This is the third or fourth card I’ve created over the years featuring this awesome stamp and the bleaching technique. My inspiration always comes from a past project from seven or eight years ago when I hosted my first challenge while on the Blockheads Paper Arts design team. Blockheads is sadly out of business now, but my challenge featured the bleaching technique and I did a stepped-out tutorial on the blog. One wouldn’t ordinarily think of using bleach on a craft project, but when carefully used on dark cardstock, the results will amaze you! I went with a black card base here because I thought the shimmer papers would look awesome against the black.

2019_122906a

I stamped the moth in Versamark and heat embossed it in black. Using a Fantastix brush point tip applicator, I very carefully ‘bleached’ all the parts of the moth inside the embossed areas. I let it air dry (which didn’t take very long) and then colored the moth with water-based markers and Clear Star shimmer pen. I cut the image with a stitched oval die and layered it onto three dotted rectangle die cuts in graduating sizes. I added black gemstones and a Tim Holtz sentiment sticker.

2019_122907a

I embellished the inside panel with some leftover cardstock strips and added another sentiment sticker.

2019_122908a

And here’s another peek… really loving how this turned out!
