Hello mini slimline

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! Can you believe we’re on the downslide to the end of March already? Where is the time going?! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring my favorite Classic Crest which I paired with a nice variety of other cardstock in the store! In addition to the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, I used Bright Gold Foil; Pop Tone Cotton Candy, Jellybean Green and Gumdrop Green; Stardream Metallic Azalea and Flame; Basis Dark Orange, and textured Kale Green and Mantis cardstock for this CAS mini slimline. I used to be very intimidated by clean and simple, but over the past few years I’ve been loving it more and more!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White along with a background panel from 80# Solar White using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Quilted Backdrop Die. Using the Sizzix Geo Floral Frame Thinlits, I cut the frames from Bright Gold Foil, and all the flowers and leaves from Pop Tone Cotton Candy, Pop Tone Jellybean Green, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green, Stardream Metallic Azalea, Stardream Metallic Flame, Basis Dark Orange, Kale Green and Mantis cardstock. I assembled the focal element and then cut the sentiment from Azalea cardstock using the Art Impressions Windows to the World Die. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet 4mm pink pearls.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from Azalea and Gold Foil cardstock. I added a foiled sentiment created with my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Glimmer Gold Foil and Glimmer Mini Everyday Sentiments Plate & Die Set.

Pair of New Baby Cards

Hey everybody! Hope your week is going great so far! Spring is on it’s way and I’m wondering if any of you are having warmer weather yet? We still have several feet of snow on the ground here in southwestern Colorado and it’s pretty chilly, so I imagine it’ll be at least another month until we see any warmer temps. There’s a whole lot of snow to melt, lol! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Basis Natural cardstock paired with several cardstock colors in the Pop Tone line! I’ve been having a little fun with my Scan N Cut and created a couple new baby cards with envelopes using the Baby Belly Card 2 cut file from My Scrap Chick, and I’m totally smitten! These cards couldn’t be any cuter! ;)

I cut everything in duplicate: the card base and baby parts (lol) from Basis Natural cardstock; the mouth from Pop Tone Black Licorice; the tooth, diaper and inside panel from Pop Tone Sweet Tooth; the diaper pin head from Pop Tone Cotton Candy (for the girl) and Pop Tone Limeade (for the boy); and the diaper pin wire from Bright Silver Foil.

I inked the edges of the baby parts with Ranger antique linen distress ink for a little definition, and then inked the cheeks with Ranger tattered rose distress ink. After assembling the cards, I stamped the sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Paper Pretties Oh Baby stamp set. The coordinating envelopes were cut from Colorbok Delilah and Mint Julep 12×12 paper pads in my stash.

The inside sentiment, also from the Paper Pretties Oh Baby stamp set and stamped in black ink, is the same on both cards.

3/5/23 Sweet Pick at Cupcake Inspirations!

Hi everyone! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! It sure got here fast… not that I’m complaining! I love every day of the week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Solar White Classic Linen and Classic Crest paired with Pop Tone Spearmint cardstock! I printed an absolutely gorgeous digital image from The Hungry Jpeg on 80# Classic Linen, trimmed it down and popped it up on white craft foam on a 100# Classic Linen card base. I added a foiled sentiment and some gemstones, and BOOM, a beautiful clean and simple card was made!

I printed The Hungry Jpeg’s Roses 3 digital image on Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White cardstock, trimmed it down to fit the card base, and cut the bottom right corner off with my Tonic corner punch. Here’s a close-up of the image so you can see how gorgeous it looks printed on the linen cardstock!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Linen 100# Solar White cardstock and cut off the bottom right corner. I adhered the digital image to a piece of Darice Foamies white craft foam and then to the card base. I added a foiled sentiment that I created with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Silver Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. The finishing touch was adding several gemstones from the Trinity Andradite Sparkle Embellishment Mix with my Trinity Pick Up Stick.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White, embellished it with a leftover strip of Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop Tone Spearmint cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments in Catherine Pooler Aquatini ink and cut it with the coordinating die.

Stenciled Christmas Cards

Hi everyone! We’ve made it through another week and it’s Friday again! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Basis Natural, Glama Brown Kraft, Kale Green and Bright Gold Foil cardstock. I’ve been in love with the Taylored Expressions Create-In-Quads Layering Stencils since I discovered them last year, and used the Mistletoe set for this project. Grab some cardstock, four inks and blending brushes, and BOOM, you have four focal panels with very little effort! And they don’t even need embellishments! Imagine that! ;)

I cut two top-folding and two side-folding standard A2 card bases from Basis Natural cardstock along with four layering panels from Kale Green cardstock and one layering panel from Bright Gold Foil. I created the four focal panels on Glama Brown Kraft cardstock using the Taylored Expressions Mistletoe Layering Stencils, Ranger peeled paint, pine needles, festive berries and candied apple distress inks, and blending brushes.

The front and inside sentiments are all from Taylored Expressions In & Out Christmas stamp set and all stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. I stamped two of the front sentiments directly on the focal panels and the other two on Basis Natural cardstock scraps, trimming one of them and using a My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX to die cut the other one. Here are angled, frontal and inside shots of each. Love how they turned out!

Another Year Older

2/6/23 Top Sprout at A Place To Start!
2/3/23 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday – I hope you’ve had a great week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Basis Gray, Dolphin Gray and Pop Tone Black Licorice which I paired with some Echo Park double-sided paper in my stash! This is one of my most favorite stamp sets because it always makes an awesome masculine card! Plus it’s a tunnel card with a pop-up sentiment on the inside! I’ve made quite a few tunnel cards over the years but have never made one quite like this, and it was rather fun!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and small rectangular panel from Basis Gray cardstock. I ran the smaller panel through the Big Shot with a Darice Diamond Plate embossing folder. I stamped the motorcycle on a scrap piece of Dolphin Gray cardstock, cut it with the coordinating die, and layered it on three additional die cuts for dimension. I stamped the sentiment from The Project Bin Wild Thing stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added several Darice tiny gray gemstones.

The inside consists of two layering panels. Using my Fiskars 12″ SureCut paper trimmer, I cut two horizontal lines into the Dolphin Gray layer to create the pop-up mechanism. I stamped another sentiment from the same Wild Thing stamp set in black ink, trimmed it and layered it, then adhered it to the left side of the pop-up mechanism. I die cut a circle into the Echo Park plaid paper and a slightly smaller circle into a square piece of Pop Tone Black Licorice which I adhered behind the aperture in the plaid paper, leaving a small border visible. The final step for the inside was adhering the plaid panel in place, making sure the sentiment flap was through the aperture before applying adhesive.

Scrappy hugs,

thanks snow much

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Pop Tone Tangy Orange and Pop Tone Hot Fudge cardstock which I paired with the always amazing Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock! The Pop Tone line is one of my favorites because there are so many pretty colors. For this melted snowman card, I used an adorable multi-step stamp set on the front I’ve had for years and had never inked up! I’m starting this year with the same promise I start every new year with… to use more stamps and dies in my stash that have either never been used or used maybe once. I did pretty well last year and used quite a few!

I cut a standard A2 size landscape top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Tangy Orange cardstock and a slightly smaller one from 80# Solar White cardstock. I used the Tonic Studios Corner Punch to clip off the corners of the white panel. Using a variety of Memento inks (listed below), the Kitchen Sink Stamps Invisible Snowman Multi-Step stamp set, and an assortment of acrylic stamp blocks, I stamped his eyes, nose, mouth, top hat, scarf, pipe and coal buttons on Solar White cardstock. I fussy cut all the pieces and arranged them in a melted snowman fashion on the white panel. I adhered the panel to the Tangy Orange layering panel and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink using my MISTI stamp tool. The finishing touches were adding a narrow strip of Hot Fudge cardstock to the left of the sentiment for a little interest along with three iridescent snowflake sequins.

I cut identical inside layering panels from Pop Tone Tangy Orange and Solar White cardstock and clipped off the corners of the white panel with the Tonic Corner Punch. I stamped a sentiment from the Keep It Simple Thank You Sentiments stamp set (a newer one) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added strips of Tangy Orange and Hot Fudge to the top of the panel.

Scrappy hugs,

Peace mini slimline card

Hi everyone! OMGosh, St. Nick will be here tonight… are you ready?! He’s coming regardless, lol! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring more of our Stardream Metallic cardstock! This cardstock has the softest shimmer and is some of the prettiest I’ve ever seen! I’ve used Stardream Metallic Fairway cardstock and Stardream Metallic Jupiter cardstock on this mini slimline card, and I love how it turned out!

I cut my favorite mini slimline card size of 3-1/2″ x 6″ from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. Using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Foliage Frame die, I cut the frame from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Fairway cardstsock, and adhered it to the card base. Next, using the Sizzix Script Holiday Words Thinlits, I die cut the sentiment three times from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Jupiter cardstock and layered them together for a little dimension. I clipped the prongs off of four Eyelet Outlet Poinsettia Flower Brads (didn’t want the bulk under the frame) and adhered them with Ranger Distress Collage Medium. The finishing touch was adding several Darice tiny clear gemstones.

Using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers dies, I cut the inside panels from the Stardream Metallic Fairway cardstock and Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, and adhered them together. I stamped a sentiment from the CAS-ual Friday Stamps Snowy Sayings stamp set in Catherine Pooler Rouge ink.

celebrate mini slimline

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Wow, this week went by rather quickly, didn’t it?! We’re that much closer to Christmas! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Stardream Metallic cardstock which is among my favorites! This white-on-white mini slimline Christmas card turned out gorgeous but was hard as heck to photograph! I really love creating tone-on-tone projects – they really pack a punch!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I cut four frames from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fri-Frame Dies, and adhered them together for some dimension. Using the Sizzix Woodlands Thinlits, Sizzix Primitive Stars Framelits and Sizzix Script Celebration Words Thinlits, I die cut two trees, a star and the sentiment from the Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock, and created the scene on the card front. The finishing touch was adding several Darice tiny gemstones.

Using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers dies, I cut the inside panels from the Stardream Metallic Eris and Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I embellished the Solar White panel with a narrow strip cut from the Eris cardstock, and stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Christmas Trees stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Have a Cozy Christmas slimline

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I can’t believe how quickly this year is coming to a close! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring Neenah Classic Crest Solar White along with Basis Red, Basis Dark Red, Kale Green, Pop Tone Jellybean Green, Mantis Green, Stardream Metallic Eris and Bright Gold Foil! As you know, we just moved and my studio is total chaos. I couldn’t find anything but cardstock and a handful of ink pads, so I used a Gemini Junior cutting plate as a stamp block, and am totally amazed that the stamping (on the inside) came out straight! LOL!

I cut a 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar white cardstock along with a layering panel from Mantis Green cardstock. I used the Splitcoast Stampers Faux Quilt Candle Card tutorial HERE for inspiration, and created the candles from Basis Red, Basis Dark Red, Kale Green, Pop Tone Jellybean Green, and Stardream Metallic Eris. I punched leaves from Bright Gold Foil for the flames. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Cozy Christmas stamp set in Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey ink, trimmed it, and adhered it to the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of Mantis Green and Pop Tone Jellybean green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the same Stampin’ Up stamp set in green ink (using the Gemini Junior cutting plate as a stamp block, lol) and layered the panel on Mantis Green cardstock.

It’s made from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and beautiful Flamingo cardstock! I LOVE a Christmas project in non-traditional colors!

I fashioned the wallet base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and layering panels from Flamingo cardstock, and rounded the bottom corners. I die cut the sentiment from Solar White and Flamingo cardstock which I layered for dimension, and then die cut the Poinsettia from Flamingo cardstock and some patterned paper in my stash. The finishing touch was adding some tiny iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panels for the pockets from two coordinating prints and added embellishing strips cut from Flamingo cardstock. I created a pull-out Christmas card embellished with a matching patterned paper and stamped a sentiment to tuck into the top pocket.
