America the beautiful

6/11/22 – Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hey y’all! I hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday! We’re already a week into June and that just blows my mind! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Pop Tone cardstock that’s on sale this month so be sure to stock up! You can’t go wrong with the amazing colors to choose from! This 4th of July card I’m sharing uses Sweet Tooth and Wild Cherry cardstock with stamping in blue ink. This is a simple Americana design that would be super easy to mass produce!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base, layering panel and die cut stitched square from Pop Tone Sweet Tooth cardstock along with a layering panel and square from Pop Tone Wild Cherry cardstock. Using the Deep Red Grunge Stars & Stripes rubber stamp and Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink, I randomly stamped the grunge flag over the white cardstock layering panel and then stamped the flag once on the die cut square. I spritzed the die cut square with Tattered Angels Iridescent Silver Glimmer Mist to add a little shimmer. I then adhered the stamped pieces to the red cardstock layers.

I stamped the sentiment from The Project Bin’s Red White and Boom stamp set in Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink on the die cut square and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Cherry Red embossing powder to make it stand out. I adhered the die cut square to the background panel and then adhered them to the front of the card base. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet red gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Pop Tone Sweet Tooth cardstock and embellished it with a couple leftover strips of Pop Tone Wild Cherry cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in blue ink and layered the panel on red cardstock.

And one more peek… really loving the Americana aspect of this card in white and red cardstock with stamping in blue ink!

Hey Girl

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend and you’re getting to do something fun! I’m sharing another friendship card for the Prickley Pear Stamps new release that I created with the Hey Girl Hey stamp set, the Chicken Wire Background stamp and the Slimline Woodgrain Background stamp! I thought these brightly-colored girls would look good on a chicken wire background stamped in gold ink – and they just had to have a frame around them! So stinkin’ cute! ;)

I cut a square top-folding card base and a layering panel from Baronial Ivory cardstock on which I stamped the chicken wire background in Delicata Golden Glitz ink. To create the frame, I stamped the woodgrain background on CutCardStock Twine cardstock, cut it into strips and inked the edges with Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink. I stamped the chickens on ivory cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them. I stamped the sentiment on an ivory cardstock scrap, trimmed them and layered them on CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock. I adhered the frame to the chicken wire background and then to the card base. Next, I adhered the chickens and sentiment, and added several Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals using my Trinity Pick Up Stick which completed the card front.

And one more peek… such a fun card created with a super fun stamp set! I just can’t get enough of these gals! ;)

Bee Happy Shaker Accordion Album

Hi peeps! Happy Saturday – I hope you had a great week! Can you believe we’re almost a week into June already?! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Bees are all the rage it seems so I created a fun bee-themed shaker accordion album featuring our Geo Pattern Wood Accordion Shaker Album and Mini Shaker Bee which happens to be one of the newer mini shakers in the store. Gotta love all these shaker compartments everywhere you look, lol! ;)

I had some digital papers in my stash with bees and sunflowers (my favorite flower) so I printed several of them to cover the album pages. I added space for photos and/or journaling on each page, with a flip-up, a couple tags and a side-flip, all embellished with cut-outs, die cuts, glitter washi tape and/or gemstones. I connected the pages with jute rope.

And one more look… really loving how this turned out! The album and mini shaker are such fun products to play with!

Sitting Here Missing You

Hey everybody! Happy Friday to you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned! I am attending my first cardmaker summit tomorrow (starting at 8:00 AM Mountain Time) and I’m very excited about joining the livestreams to see demonstrations from several well known stamp companies. We couldn’t livestream or watch videos at all without constant interruptions with the horribly slow satellite internet we previously had. Switching ISPs back in January was a smart decision – we didn’t know there were any other options available in this little town or we would have done it sooner, lol! I’ve popped in this morning to share the very first project I created back in April for the Prickley Pear Stamps new release! This super sweet ‘missing you’ card features the Chicken Gal Pals stamp set and is a quick and easy design.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# Solar White cardstock, and rounded the bottom right corner of both. I stamped the chicken and her nest on a Solar White cardstock scrap in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them. I stamped chicken wire down the left side of the layering panel in Delicata Golden Glitz ink and added a strip of Eyelet Outlet Skinny Red Washi Tape. I adhered the fussy cut chicken and nest, and then stamped the sentiment in black ink. The finishing touch was adding several Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals.

And one more peek… I’m loving this clean and simple card design created with a most adorable stamp set!

Scrappy hugs,

Life is simple. Just add water.

Hey everybody! Happy June 1st! Hard believe, I know, but it’s definitely here! I’m proud to share that one of my projects was Featured over at Scrapping4fun Challenges a few weeks back and the lovely Rachelle offered me a guest design spot, so here I am! Our challenge this month is #213 – Ocean/Water so my GD inspiration project is a super cute Art Impressions Circlet Mini Tryfold depicting a wonderful tropical scene! This is the first one of these trifold cards I’ve made and it was so stinkin’ fun I can’t stand it, and have since made a Christmas one that I’ll be sharing soon!

I cut the trifold card base from 80# Solar White cardstock. At the time I made this card, I hadn’t yet received the package of premade trifold cards, so I made my own. Using the Art Impressions Tropical Circlet Mini Tryfold stamps and dies, I stamped and die cut the three elements of the scene on the front, right-fold flap and inside. I colored the scenes with alcohol markers and stamped an Inspired by Stamping sentiment on the front. I added a tiny disc magnet to hold the card closed and a few gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Adradite Sparkle Embellishment Mix. Here’s a close-up so you can see all three elements of the scene with the card closed. Sure looks mighty inviting! ;)

And here are shots of the card opening up so you can see the other two elements of the scene.

And one more look… this couldn’t be more perfect for the Scrapping4fun Challenge this month! I have to confess that I’ve quickly become an Art Impressions addict with the Matchbooks, the Twisters and the Circlet Mini Tryfolds – and soon you’ll see some Windows to the World! I absolutely love Bonnie Krebs’ imagination!

Get Well Soon

Howdy peeps! Hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday and not working too hard! I’ve been to the vet this morning to drop off our latest rescue for spaying. She’s the sweetheart who was sick when the neighbor brought her to us several weeks ago and had the six babies that didn’t survive. She’s getting along great with our other indoor cats and has quickly become one of the indoor kitty clan. ;) Okay, now for today’s share – a super cute get well card created with the new Nap Time stamp set in the latest Prickley Pear Stamps release. My goal was to make the bookshelf look like it was up against a wallpapered wall, and I think I made that happen! This is such a fun stamp set (and a large one) that’s fun to color!

I cut a mini slimline 3-1/2″ x 6″ card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from the Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup 6×6 Mini Pad which I adhered to the card base. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Nap Time stamp set on 80# Solar White cardstock and colored it with alcohol markers. I trimmed the image and adhered it to the card front. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock, punched it with a 1″ circle punch and adhered it to the top center of the image. The finishing touch was adding three green Eyelet Outlet gemstones.

And one more peek… I’m really loving how this turned out! Being a crazy cat lady makes coloring this lazy cat in different color combinations the most fun!

To the guy that wears many hats

6/4/22 Winner at Make the Cards Challenge!

Hey everybody! A big Happy Monday to you all – I hope your week has started off nicely! If you’re in the States, then that means you’re having a Memorial Day holiday today, so please take a moment to remember and honor those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. I’ve popped in this morning to share another awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project. I created a Father’s Day card, and of course, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. This super cute stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up makes the perfect Father’s Day cards! And this one is almost a one-layer card, lol!

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere the tiny star sequins. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock and a narrow panel from a striped patterned paper in the Crafter’s Companion Just for Men Brights Collection 6×6 paper pad which I adhered to the bottom of the card front. I stamped the hat from the Stampin’ Up Hats Off stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black on a coordinating paper from the Just for Men paper pad, die cut it with the coordinating die from the Stampin’ Up Hat Builder die set, and layered it on two additional hats die cut from CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock for a little dimension. Using the same Stampin’ Up stamps and dies, I stamped and die cut the patch for the front of the hat from CutCardStock Basis Gold cardstock and adhered it to the hat. I stamped the sentiment and added several silver star sequins which completed the card front.

I cut a striped patterned paper strip from the Just for Men paper pad and stamped the sentiment from the Inspired by Stamping Masculine Tags stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

And one more peek… can’t believe how simple this card was to create, and I love that I can count on everything adhering well with Tape Runner!

Colors Note Card

Howdy peeps! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend… it sure is going by fast! I’m popping in again this morning with a fun mini slimline note card featuring the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies along with the Altenew Mini Delight: Mini Paintbox Stamp and Die Set. I’m sure I’ve mentioned how happy I am to have found a nice variety of mini slimline dies (and readymade envelopes) for my go-to size of 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slim cards! This is the legal size to mail through the post office and the only size of these I make. ;)

I cut a mini slimline card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a die cut layering panel from 80# Solar White cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies which I adhered to the card base. I then die cut several partial panels using CutCardStock Pop Tone Wild Cherry, Tangy Orange, Banana Split, Gumdrop Green, Blue Raspberry and Grape Jelly cardstock which I stacked together and adhered to the bottom of the card front. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then stamped the paint box on a scrap piece of 110# Solar White cardstock and cut it with the coordinating die. I LOVE this mini stamp and die set! I used a Stampin’ Up 1/4″ Circle Punch and punched small circles from the corner of several Sunny Studio Striped Silly 6×6 double-sided papers, adhered them to the paint box and then covered them with Glossy Accents. Once dry, I adhered the element to the card front and then added several Kat Scrappiness 3mm and 4mm Sparkling Clear Droplets which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Pop Tone Grape Jelly cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies, and adhered a plain layering panel cut from 80# Solar White cardstock. Since this is a note card, I left the panel blank with plenty of room to write a custom message.

And one more look… totally loving how this note card turned out! And I’m so smitten with these mini slimline dies from Kat Scrappiness. I searched and searched for a long time to find them, and I’ve been making my own mini slim envelopes which I won’t have to do anymore! ;)

From One Groovy Chick to Another

Hey everybody! The days are passing by so fast it’s making my head spin! It’s so bizarre that nearly half the year is gone already! I have another fun card to share with you that I created for the Prickley Pear Stamps new release! This card features the new Hippie Chickens stamp set along with a tie dyed stenciled background, and was so much fun to create!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding landscape card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock and 80# Solar White cardstock. Using The Crafter’s Workshop Mini Tie Dyed Stencil and several blending brushes, I applied Ranger mustard seed, twisted citron, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, salty ocean, seedless preserves and picked raspberry distress inks. I then slid the stencil very very slightly over toward the right and downward, applied DreamWeaver Translucent Embossing Paste and allowed it to dry. I trimmed the panel and adhered it to the orange panel and then to the card base.

I stamped the van and a couple chickens in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and fussy cut them all. Then came the fun of arranging them on the background. The van needed to be ‘grounded’ so I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it beneath the tires of the van, adding one of the chickens. The finishing touch was adhering a few pieces of Clear Scraps flower confetti.

And one more look… such a fun stamp set that’s so fun to color in funky 70s colors! Yep, right up my alley!

Scrappy hugs,

Christmas Nighttime Sky

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m stoked to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with one more awesome DT inspiration project! This is my last regular post for Eyelet Outlet (I’ll be popping in from time to time with new release samples for them) and I’ve created a Christmas card with a pretty inked nighttime snowy sky featuring our City Skyline Washi Tape and Snowflake Brads along with Santa and his reindeer!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# Solar White cardstock. I employed the DTP (direct-to-paper) technique to ink the background with Ranger stormy sky and chipped sapphire distress inks and then splattered white acrylic paint mixed with a tad bit of water with my fan brush across the panel. I applied a strip of City Skyline Washi Tape to a scrap piece of 110# Solar White cardstock, cut it out along the tops of the buildings, and adhered it to the bottom of the inked panel. I stamped Santa with Reindeer (a rubber stamp thank you gift in one of my previous Taylored Expressions orders) and the sentiment from the Trinity Stamps A Sentiment For (Almost) Everything stamp set in Catherine Pooler Midnight ink, and then added the Snowflake Brads to complete the panel.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a super narrow strip of Basis Blue cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from The Project Bin Merriest Christmas stamp set in Catherine Pooler Midnight ink and layered the panel on Basis Blue cardstock.

And one more look… so loving how this turned out! You know how I love me some Christmas all year long, and I really enjoyed creating this with the fun washi tape and brads!
