Friends are flowers

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great week and it’s not too hot yet where you are! It’s definitely getting warm here but we don’t have much humidity so it never feels as warm as it does in other places with higher humidity levels. I was asked by Becca, the owner of FarmQuest Challenge Blog, to be a guest designer for Theme #7 – Barrel AND Watering Can, Pitcher or Bucket. Of course, I said yes, so I created a pretty friendship card featuring the Bearly Art Flower Barrel SVG and the pitcher from the Simply Crafty SVGs Pitcher of Flowers cut file. I also used sentiments from Trinity Stamps Friends are Flowers and Supporting Script Sentiments stamp sets.

I started by creating the main card element using my Scan N Cut, the Bearly Art Flower Barrel SVG and CutCardStock Basis Black, Basis Brown, Basis Magenta, Pop Tone Jellybean Green, Pop Tone Spearmint, Pop Tone Cotton Candy, Pop Tone Banana Split, Shadow Gray and Scottish Highlands Green cardstock. As I always say, the most fun of working with SVGs is putting the projects together, and I really enjoyed this one! I also cut a flat pitcher from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon using the Simply Crafty SVGs Pitcher of Flowers cut file and embellished it with some Eyelet Outlet pink gemstones and a die cut flower that was out on my desk.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel and strips from two coordinating patterned papers from the The Paper Studio Four Seasons and Everything In Between -2- paper pad (one of my all-time favorites). I also cut narrow strips from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock and adhered all the panels and strips to the card base. I added the flower barrel and the pitcher, along with a sentiment (and stamped and colored butterfly) from the Trinity Stamps Friends are Flowers stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut with the coordinating Trinity Stamps Friends are Flowers die set. The finishing touch was adding some Eyelet Outlet green pearl bling.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from the patterned paper and Lagoon cardstock used on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the Trinity Stamps Supporting Script Sentiments stamp set in black ink and layered the panel on Lagoon cardstock.

And one more look… really loving how this card turned out and how well it fits the theme for the FarmQuest Challenge Blog guest gig!

Feline Rescue Fundraiser Set Up!

Hey everybody! I finally did something this morning that I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time… I set up a fundraiser for our feline rescue efforts. We take in homeless cats and kittens to feed them, love them, and provide medical care when needed. Since we’ve retired and are living on social security, everything is getting more and more expensive. We’ve gotten two more kitties over the past month. The newest baby, RV, appears to be 8-10 weeks old and was found with his head stuck in a gear under a motorhome across the street, saved by our neighbor and her daughter.

Please consider donating – all donations will be used for food, treats, litter, shots, and spaying and neutering. These are on-going expenses. The donation link is: https://gofund.me/55ab726d

I’ve also set up a Page here on my blog (over on the right sidebar toward the top) so you can get to know our 21 feline kids! It’s called Cats, Cats and More Cats! so be sure to check it out! Hopefully it’ll bring a smile to your face!

A huge thanks from both Ed and I, and much love to you all!

Scrappy hugs,

Rustic Christmas Ornament

Hey, everybody! Happy Happy Friday! Today is my baby boy’s 36th birthday and I don’t even know how that happened! He’s grown into such a wonderful young man (son, brother, uncle, husband and father), so here’s to many more happy birthdays! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I haven’t made any ornaments yet using Clear Scraps products and the Mini Shaker Star and 4×6 Stars Stencil spoke to me, so that’s the direction I went!

I started by swiping Memento Rich Cocoa ink and Memento Espresso Truffle ink in a downward motion onto the chipboard back of the Mini Shaker Star. I applied transfer gel with a spatula over the 4×6 Stars Stencil onto the chipboard back, let it dry, and pressed a piece of gold foil onto it with a brayer. Next, I painted the front chipboard form of the with a gold paint pen and set it aside to dry. I stamped the Christmas present on light brown cardstock in brown archival ink, stamped it again in Versamark, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder with flecks of white embossing powder in it. Whole ‘nother story… I must have accidentally dumped some stray white into the container of clear at some point but when I discovered it a little over a year ago, I liked it so I’ve been using it like that, lol!

I die cut the embossed present with the coordinating die and adhered it slightly off-kilter but mostly centered on the chipboard back. Working from the bottom up, I adhered the next two chipboard forms and punched a hole through the three layers with my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite. I adhered the acrylic divider (with the protective film removed from both sides) to the front chipboard form, punched a hole through those two layers, and adhered them to the bottom part of the star. I clamped the star for about 10-15 minutes to be sure the layers adhered well, and then ran the gold paint pen around the outside edges to match the front.

Once the gold paint was completely dry, I lightly sanded it and wiped brown dye ink on it with my finger tip to add to the rustic look. I threaded jute rope through the hole at the top for the hanger, catching a piece of gold cording in it, and tied two knots. I tied rusted jingle bells to the end of the gold cording which completed the project.

Motivational Artist Trading Coin Mini Album

6/30/22 Best Technique Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!
7/20/22 Top 3 at ATC Around the World!

Hey everybody! Happy Huuuump Day! Hope you’re having a great week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring more of our Pop Tone cardstock, which I absolutely love. You know how much I love me some ATCs (artist trading cards/coins/cubes)… and I thought it would be fun to make a mini album of motivational double-sided coins! I used several colors of Pop Tone cardstock that I paired with a variety of Doodlebug Design patterned papers for the coins, and various other supplies to embellish them.

I started by punching six artist trading coins from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock using my Fiskars 2-1/2″ circle punch. Next, I punched 12 circles (using the same Fiskars 2-1/2″ circle punch) from Doodlebug Design Hello Spring, Swiss Dot Rainbow Petite Prints, Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Prints and Nifty Notions Double-Sided 6×6 Papers. Using several dies and a scalloped circle punch, I cut a variety of shapes from Pop Tone Banana Split, Berrylicious, Blue Raspberry, Cotton Candy, Gumdrop Green and Spearmint cardstock.

I adhered a patterned paper circle and a Pop Tone cardstock shaped element to each side of all six coins. I punched a hole at the top of each coin with my WRMK Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and added a clear hole reinforcement to each. Next, I added 49 and Market botanical laser cuts, Eyelet Outlet pearls or gemstones, and a Tim Holtz Small Talk sentiment sticker to each side of all six coins. The final step was fastening the coins together with a tiny gold ball chain and clasp.

And one more look… totally loving how this project turned out! Would be super adorable pinned to a bulletin board showing a different motivational sentiment every day!

Birthday Fishes ATC

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’ve popped in this morning to share an awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project! I created an artist trading card featuring a phantom stamped background along with a super adorable Cottage Cutz die set, and of course, all elements (except the pearls) were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. You know how I love ATCs, and this one was definitely a fun one!

As mentioned above, all elements on this ATC were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere the pearls. I cut two 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ ATC bases, trimmed just a tiny bit off one of them, and rounded the corners on both. I colored the trimmed panel with an orange alcohol marker. When it was dry, I stamped the birthday fishes sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Whale Done stamp set in a vertical orientation in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next, I stamped the RiverCity Rubber Works Birthday Background in Versamark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

I adhered the trimmed, stamped and embossed ATC panel onto the remaining ATC base. Using the Cottage Cutz Goldfish & Bowl die set, I die cut all the elements from 110# Solar White cardstock. I colored them with alcohol markers and adhered them to the ATC. The finishing touch was adding Eyelet Outlet white pearl bling across the top of the fishbowl.

And one more peek… how stinkin’ cute is this ATC?! I absolutely LOVE this die set and it’s so awesome to have good strong Tape Runner adhesive to hold it all together!

What Makes a Home?

Hey, everybody! Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project. I’ve been playing with the 3-D Frameables again (maybe still playing with them, lol) and created a sweet home-themed project featuring our Base with Square Frame and Word n Shape Home-House. I really enjoyed creating this!

I started by covering the two base pieces, the frame, and the House shape with patterned paper, and adhered the base pieces together. This was a new pack of paper and I really love all the coordinating patterns.

I printed the home definition on a piece of the patterned paper that I cut down to 8-1/2″ x 11″, trimmed it, and sandwiched it between the two frame pieces. I fussy cut a small flower from the scrap leftover from covering the small base piece, and adhered it to the top right corner of the frame. I adhered two heart die cuts (leftover from another project) to the house and embellished it with white pearl bling strips. I colored the Home word with a dark green alcohol marker and embellished it with yellow enamel dots.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! How true is that home definition?! Of course, having fun products to play with is definitely a plus!

Wine Bottle Card/Tag

Hey everybody! You up yet?! We are early risers and are up bright and early every morning, and this is actually my second post this morning! ;) This time I’m sharing a super adorable wine bottle card/tag created with the Red Wine Blue cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables! How stinkin’ cute is this?! It was so easy to make and I think it would be a hit on a bottle of wine taken to a 4th of July gathering!

Using my Scan N Cut, I cut all the pieces (plus extra background pieces) from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White and CutCardStock Basis Navy, Basis Red and Silver Glitter cardstock. I created a card with the two navy pieces by scoring horizontally across the top of the back piece and adhering it to the front piece. Then I assembled the front and added navy blue twine for the hanger.

I trimmed off the tops of the extra red and white pieces, adhered them together and then to the inside of the card, and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink.

And one more peek… OMGosh, I’m so smitten! I love this cut file and I’m sure I’ll be using it again and again! Such a fun project!

Vase of Flowers Gift Card Holder

Hi friends! Happy Fri-YAY! I hope you’ve had a great week! I mentioned a couple days ago that I found a new online SVG store called Printable Cuttable Creatables, and I’ve created two more projects using her cut files that I’ll be sharing this morning. The first one is THE cutest gift card holder created with the Flower Vase Gift Card Holder cut file. It’s so bright and cheerful, and definitely a beautiful way to present a gift card for a birthday! I really enjoyed putting it together and watching it come to life!

Using my Scan N Cut, I cut all the pieces for the Flower Vase Gift Card Holder from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange, Basis Gold, Basis Green, Basis Light Yellow, Basis Magenta, Basis Teal, Pop Tone Berrylicious, Pop Tone Cotton Candy, Pop Tone Grape Jelly, Pop Tone Grapesicle, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green, Pop Tone Tangy Orange, Camomile, and Scottish Highlands Green cardstock. Then the fun began with the assembly! I always love putting these projects together! I didn’t have a real gift card to use for the photo so I made one from a 80# Solar White cardstock scrap. I added a foiled and die cut sentiment created with a scrap of 110# Solar White cardstock and my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Glimmer Gold Foil and Glimmer Mini Everyday Sentiments Plate & Die Set. The finishing touch was coloring the flower centers with Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops.

And one more look… such a fun gift card holder that was an absolute delight to make! Can’t wait to send it to somebody now! ;)

Love is a Triple Fold Card

6/11/22 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!
6/13/22 Top Pick at Heart’s Quest Challenge Blog!

Hi peeps! I hope you’re having a great week – Friday is almost here! I’m back with another post this morning to share a fun fold card that I created to enter in my friend Becca’s relatively new Heart’s Quest Challenge Blog. The current Challenge #4 is to use a dark blue heart and lots of dark blue on project, and I think I’ve accomplished that with this triple fold card. This is a Valentine’s Day card created in non-traditional blues and features several die cuts, some very cool flowing ink cardstock and a super fun sentiment on the inside!

I cut the card base, a large stitched heart and the belly band from CutCardStock Basis Navy cardstock, as well as layering panels from HOTP Flowing Ink double-sided cardstock which I adhered to the card base. I also cut an Eiffel Tower from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Eiffel Tower die which I adhered to the card front. I die cut two love circles from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock using the Taylored Expressions Ring Around the Words die. I adhered the stitched heart and one of the love circles to the card front, cutting along the edges of the flaps. I cut a belly band and layers from the Basis Navy and Flowing Ink cardstocks, and adhered part of the second love circle to it, lining it up with the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of HOTP Flowing Ink cardstock. I stamped the fun sentiment and heart from the STAMPlorations Funny Kinda Love stamp set in Catherine Pooler Tranquil and Cove Blue inks, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock.

And one more peek… this was such a fun card to create, and I’m so happy to have found Becca’s challenge! Come on over and check it out!
