Notelet Card Folio

Hi everybody! Well, this week is more than half gone already and tonight is Christmas Eve! Woo-hoo! Are you ready?! I played in the studio yesterday morning and made a couple more projects to enter into several of The Outlawz Challenges going on now. The first project I have to share is this notelet card folio which I’m really excited about! My inspiration came from an origami card holder I saw on the Stampin’ With Inky Butterfly blog HERE which I changed up some. The cards originally reminded me of mini slimlines so that’s the angle I went with for my version but later learned that the size is somewhat smaller than mini slimlines so I have renamed them notelets.

I’m entering this in the Twisted Thursday Challenge which is Anything Goes with a twist of Rounded Corners (my notelets have the bottom right corner rounded). I’m also entering this into the Festive Fridays Challenge where Fred She Said is the sponsor and challenge participants can choose from Christmas, Flowers, Pets, Birthday or Anything Goes themes – and I’ve chosen Anything Goes. And finally, this fits in the Tuesday Color Challenge as well, where Sherry West Art is the sponsor and we’re using the following photo for inspiration (I zeroed in on the salmony-pink and green):

I used Stampin’ Up Fruit Stand DSP and chose a strawberry pattern on one side with stripes on the reverse side to create the folio. I embellished it with small die cut strawberries and green flat-back pearls, and I created a band with a velcro closure. I used a fun Prickley Pear Stamps clear stamp set for the front and inside sentiments, as well as the strawberry stamped on the envelopes. Here are shots of the folio closed, open and one with the cards and envelopes displayed.

I created the notelet card bases from Solar White cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner on each, and then cut the layers from Stampin’ Up Watermelon Wonder cardstock.

I embellished each card front with a strip of striped pattern paper layered on Stampin’ Up Cucumber Crush cardstock and two small die cut strawberries. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner in black ink which completed the card front.

I embellished the inside with a strip of the striped pattern paper and a narrow strip of the green cardstock, then stamped the sentiment in black ink.

And one more look at one of the cards… I’m so smitten! This was such a fun project!

Happy 29th Birthday

Hello, everyone! I’ve popped in again today to share another DT inspiration project for The Project Bin! I used the Born Yesterday stamp set to create a clean and simple birthday card with a round aperture, similar to the one I created last month with the acetate window but with a different sentiment and no acetate this time. This sentiment cracks me up and I can SO identify, lol!

I created a standard A2 top-folding card base and punched a 2-1/4″ circular aperture in the bottom right corner. I cut a thin frame from green cardstock using the 2-1/4″ circle punch along with a 2-1/2″ circle punch, and adhered it around the aperture.

I stamped the sentiment in the center of the aperture in green ink and the cake in pink ink, and then added lines of Crystal Drops to the cake and a few random dots to the background.

And one more look… what a fun card! I can think of several friends who would appreciate this!

Nice shoes!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I’ve popped in today to share a fun DT inspiration project for The Project Bin which is totally NOT season-related! I was provided the awesome Haunt It stamp set a while back and pulled it out to create a fun Halloween card to take your mind off the hustle and bustle of Christmas! I’m still shaking my head at how fast this year has flown by!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base and rounded the bottom right corner. I used an assortment of cardstock strips (some cut from scraps, which I love ;) along with a strip of washi tape to create the Halloween-colored background and stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner. I added a witch hat brad and several tiny purple gemstones to complete the front.

I embellished the inside panel with cardstock strips and two witch leg brads, stamped the sentiment in orange ink and layered the panel on orange cardstock.

And one more peek… so loving this super easy design with a fun sentiment!

happy thoughts ATC

Hi everyone! I hope your Monday is going well – another weekend bites the dust, lol! They sure are going by fast! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped on real quick today to share a pretty ATC I whipped up this morning for The Outlawz Challenges! I’m actually playing in three challenges with this ATC – the first challenge I’m entering is the Tuesday Color Challenge where Sherry West Art is the sponsor and we’re using this photo for inspiration:

I used water-based neon Karin brushmarkers and played on just about every color in the inspiration photo. I love bright colors and I especially love these neon colors! The next challenge this ATC is going into is the Twisted Thursday Challenge which is Anything Goes with a twist of Rounded Corners. And finally I’ll enter it into the Festive Fridays Challenge with an Anything Goes theme. Our sponsor is Fred She Said and challenge participants can choose from Christmas, Flowers, Pets, Birthday or Anything Goes themes.

I used the awesome STAMPlorations Zen Coffee ATC #3 clear stamp, trimmed it and rounded the corners. I colored it with the neon brushmarkers, ran a black marker around the edge, and then splattered black gesso mixed with just a tad bit of water over it for a little interest. I added a clear sticker sentiment from STAMPlorations Shine Bright Clear Stickers. These clear stickers are so cool and easy to use!

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! And I know quite a few coffee-loving people who don’t think happy thoughts until they have their coffee, lol!

Silent Night

Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing something fun this weekend but staying safe and doing the mask and social distancing thing! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I haven’t had a whole lot of spare time lately and have been wanting to play in The Outlawz Challenges this month. I found a few extra minutes today to create a pretty kraft and gold Christmas card to enter into the Festive Fridays Challenge! Our sponsor this month is Fred She Said and the themes to choose from are Christmas, Flowers, Pets, Birthday or Anything Goes. I’m still in full-on Christmas mode so I chose the Christmas theme!

I created a standard A2 size side-folding card base. I chose a kraft and gold paper pad and pulled out snowflake and plaid papers to create the background. I cut one reindeer from CUTplorations Two Reindeer Dies from a sheet of solid gold paper in the same paper pad and then cut another one from kraft to layer beneath the gold one for a little definition and slight dimension. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, trimmed it and double-flagged one end. The finishing touch was the addition of a few pink gold-rim flat-back pearls.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of plaid and solid gold papers, stamped the sentiment in brown ink and layered the panel on gold paper.

And one more look… such a pretty but simple design!

Don’t stop believin’

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun double flap Christmas card… and you know how much I love fun folds! I’ve had this one in my tutorial folder for a while and thought it would be fun to bring it around again to create a Christmas card.

I used a pretty chartreuse green cardstock for the card base and green plaid digital paper layered on gold foil cardstock for the left flap. I used a coordinating solid green digital paper layered on gold foil cardstock for the right flap. I tore several layers of white cardstock to create snow banks and randomly placed some Pine Tree Brads which I embellished with thin lines of glitter drops to resemble snow. I stamped Santa and his reindeer along with a sentiment in black ink, and then adhered the layered panel to the right flap. I added Ivory Enamel Dots to the left flap to complete the front.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of Tree Washi Tape -Wide and a narrow strip of the chartreuse green cardstock, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

And one more peek… I really do love this fold! And these brads and washi tape are pretty awesome too! ;)

happy birthday to you

Hi everyone! Oh my goodness – I believe we are going to have a white Christmas out here in Colorado! The snow is SO beautiful! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring Stardream Metallic cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack – which happens to be on sale this month so be sure to get some! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a pretty fairy-themed birthday card which I know a special little girl is going to love! The funny thing is I know a few adults who love fairies too, lol!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with an inside layering panel from Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I cut layering panels and embellishing strips from Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock, Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock, Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock and Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock. I adhered the Lagoon and Aquamarine strips diagonally mid-way down the Amethyst panel and then applied two strips of washi tape above and below for a little interest. I adhered the die cut sentiment to the panel, added the fairy brads and several tiny iridescent gemstones, and adhered the panel to the black layering panel and then to the card base.

I embellished the inside panel with Lagoon, Amethyst and Aquamarine strips along with a strip of washi tape. I stamped the sentiment in black ink, cut it with a stitched oval die and adhered it to the panel, then layered the entire panel on black cardstock.

And one more peek… I’m so smitten with this cardstock! It’s gorgeous! And those little fairies are pretty awesome, too! ;)

Wishing you a latte Peace Love & Joy

Hello friends! How’s the weather where you are? We have a good bit of snow on the ground and I’m happy as I can be – I love me some snow! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m thrilled to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a card with a latte Christmas wishes on it! Imagine my surprise when I discovered I had a die with the same sentiments on it as these adorable little coffee cup brads! Completely coincidental!

I created a top-folding A2 card base (landscape this time rather than the usual portrait) from white cardstock along with white layering panels for the front and the inside. I also cut red textured cardstock panels for the front and inside, and then rounded all four corners on all the panels. I applied a strip of Christmas Pattern Washi Tape vertically down the left side of the front red panel, then added three Holiday Coffee Cup Brads and three White Enamel Dots. I stamped the first part of the sentiment in green ink and adhered a white layered die cut just below it to complete it. I dug into my glitter alpha sticker sets and found a white glitter ampersand that I colored with a green alcohol marker.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of red textured cardstock, a very narrow strip of white cardstock and a strip of the Christmas Pattern Washi Tape. I rounded the four corners, stamped the sentiment in green ink and layered the panel on the red textured cardstock.

And one more peek… I really love how this turned out! I have to admit that I was a little unsure of how the partially stamped sentiment was going to look with the die cut, but I like it!

Christmas Tags Turned Into Ornaments

12/31/20 Best Technique Winner at Classic Design Challenge!

Hi everybody! I hope you’re having an awesome week! I’m posting on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an adorable set of Christmas tags that are intended to be turned into ornaments after the presents have been opened! How fun is that?! Each one is a little gift in itself and I love it when something functional turns into a keepsake! I was gifted the amazing Christmas Holiday Gift Tags clear stamp set which I paired with the awesome Circle Peek A Boo Die that I had my stash to create this project. What a great combination!

There are five images in the set and I stamped them all in black ink on white cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with a stitched octagon die. I cut five additional slightly larger octagonals from silver foil cardstock and then adhered them behind the die cut images. I used the peek a boo die to cut five different colors of cardstock, and then cut five stitched circles from white cardstock that were just a bit larger than the peek a boo die cuts, and adhered them behind the peek a boo die cuts. I stamped ‘To’ and ‘From’ along with a sentiment in coordinating red or green ink on the back of the stitched circle die cuts. I adhered the layered octagonals to the circles and added iridescent gemstones, then punched a hole at the top of each one and added a coordinating color of crafter’s cord. Here are close-ups:

And one more peek at the set… so much fun – and I definitely see more of these in my future!

Merry Christmas Greetings

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a great week and have something fun (and safe) planned for this weekend! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I CASE’d my own Autumn design from a few months back and created a pretty Christmas card featuring a wreath embellished with some gorgeous brads!

I cut a 5.5″ square top-folding card base along with red dotted and striped cardstock panels. I applied strips of skinny red and green washi tape from the Skinny Holiday Washi Tape pack along with a strip of Skinny Gold Washi Tape at the seam, and then adhered the panel to the card base. I die cut a circular frame on which to build the wreath. I punched a bunch of leaves and adhered them to the frame, and then added single leaves here and there to fill in blank spots. I embellished the wreath with several Poinsettia Brads and 6 mm Red Gold Edge Jewel Brads, and a red bow at the bottom. I stamped the sentiment across the bottom and then adhered the wreath to the card front.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the red dotted paper used on the front along with a strip of the Skinny Gold Washi Tape, stamped the sentiment in green ink and layered the panel on red cardstock.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! I only wish the gold washi tape looked as pretty in the photos as it is in real life!
