‘Tis the Season

Hi everybody! I’m super stoked to share that I’m guesting for Jingle Belles this fortnight! How awesome is that?! Really looking forward to crafting with Lauren and Stef, and knocking a couple Christmas cards out of the way! The theme I’ve chosen is Let the Flakes Fall Where they May – we’d like to see your projects include snow – in the form of snowflakes, snowmen, snowy landscape, etc. You get the picture! ;)

First up is a twisted gate fold. Anybody who knows me knows that I’m a fancy fold addict. This is one of the coolest folds I think I’ve ever seen – another thanks to Splitcoast Stampers for including the tutorial in a newsletter a few weeks back. And pardon the clear rod on the left side of the first photo… the card wasn’t cooperating and would not lie flat while I was taking the photographs. ;)

2016_10150004a

I chose the snowy theme because I’m yearning for some ‘real’ winter weather. We’ve been intermittently running our air conditioning here in north Florida. I loved using the snowflake paper and layering it on the cool blue colors of cardstock. At least I can have some imaginary winter, lol!

2016_10150005a

I adhered snowflake sequins to the layered sentiment circle on the front and also on the inside just beneath the sentiment.

Here’s one final shot. So much fun! I really love this fold! ;)

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! I’m back with my final post today and a super fun project to share with you! The February House of Cards challenge is live this morning and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for Love Theme and/or Colors! What a gorgeous color palette!

0217-lovecolors

I created a paper bag card and envelope! Yep, I used two of those little kraft lunch bags, lol! So much fun! I chose several coordinating Stampin’ Up! papers and inked all the pieces with Antique Linen distress ink.

2017_01080008a

All the hearts on this paper piece were colored with clear sparkle marker and then with Glossy Accents. I tied a bow on a white heart-shaped button with gold metallic thread and adhered it to the front.

2017_01080009a

I created a tag to tuck into the slot on the front, and repetitively stamped the ‘now and forever’ sentiment along with some small hearts in three inks matching the papers.

2017_01080010a

The inside features an inlaid die cut with a little stamping.

2017_01080011a

Here’s one final shot of the closed card and back side of the envelope which features a stamped and punched heart. Really loving how this turned out!

Happy Birthday Wishes

** 2/15/17 Special Mention at World Wide Open Design Team Monthly Challenge! **

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! It’s unbelievable how quickly January passed by us. It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for February Anything Goes! I hope you will join us this month. Remember, we welcome all kinds of handmade projects – from cards, tags, ATCs and scrapbook layouts to 3-D projects, mixed media canvases and altered projects – and even knitting, crocheting and jewelry! We want to see whatever you’re working on!

Today I’m showcasing a 4″ square shutter card that I made using Stampin’ Up! products. I made my first one in shades of blue a while back and really loved it… so much so that I made another one, this time in warm tones of yellow and brown. Instead of my signature big bow on the front, I stamped and die cut a large layered flower with leaves. The closure is a tiny magnet under the sentiment tag. If you’re interested in the first one I made, you can see it HERE.

Here are a few progressive shots of the card opening up – check out the shutter opening to reveal the inside sentiment. So fun! :D

And finally, here’s a shot of the entire inside. Love the construction of this! I see another one of these in my near future – and it will be a different size! I do not recall exactly where I found the tutorial for this fold originally but I’ve searched and came up with one on YouTube that looks pretty similar HERE. Enjoy!

Today’s Forecast:

Hello, my crafty friends! We’re a month into the new year… happy February 1st! Today would have been my parents’ 69th wedding anniversary and I’m sure they are celebrating in heaven! It’s time for a new challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #94 – Who Loves You Baby! Our sponsors this month are Graciellie Design, Sparkle N Sprinkle and Lawn Fawn – so come on over and play with us!

I chose the absolutely adorable LSS ‘Emily Showers of Love’from Sparkle N Sprinkle for my love card. I had such a good time putting this card together! I chose a couple coordinating dainty pink papers and layered them on black cardstock.

leslie

You can’t see it in the photos but I colored the raining hearts with clear sparkle marker for some pretty shimmer. I added my big bow with several loops of black metallic thread behind it, and played with some Crystal Drops!

The inside sentiment was part of the image set and is just perfect! I layered the panel on black and pink cardstock.

Seasons Greetings Christmas Challenge DT

Update: This challenge blog abruptly closed down in mid-April, after only a couple challenges. :(

Hi everyone! I have another tidbit of great news to share… I’ve been invited to join the brand new Seasons Greetings Christmas Challenge DT! Woo-hoo! I’m really looking forward to creating with these talented ladies!

sgcc-badge

Our challenges will go live on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, with Team Kangaroo showcasing their Christmas creations on the second Tuesday and Team Koala (my team) showcasing theirs on the fourth Tuesday of each month. All challenges are Anything Goes and there will always be an optional twist that you can follow if you want – they are there to inspire to you and are not mandatory to participate in the challenge. With two challenges per month, what an absolutely wonderful way to get all your Christmas cards knocked out of the way before Christmas!

The older I get the more I love Christmas and what it means. I typically love creating cards with lots of layers and my big signature bows. My goal this year is to make Christmas cards with less dimension that are easier to mail and not require additional postage. I’m really looking forward to having all my cards made ahead of time which will definitely minimize holiday stress. I’m also looking forward to using rubber/clear stamps in my stash for my creations.

Our first challenge will launch on February 14th. My first project will showcase on February 28th, so stay tuned! I hope you’re as excited as I am! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you soon! ;)

Scrappy hugs,
lesliesig

Dare 2B Artzy Design Team

Woo-hoo! I’m super stoked to announce that I’ve been invited to join the Dare 2B Artzy DT! I’m so excited I can barely contain myself… busting at the seams! We finally get to blab, lol!

d2ba-dt-badge

Have you seen their products?! Oh, my! So excited to be working with the amazing stamps, dies, paper and inks! Be sure to check them all out HERE! And stay tuned for my first D2BA project post in slightly less than a week! You’re gonna love it! ;)

Cindy just got back from CHA where quite a few new stamp sets and dies were released, so stay tuned for a blog hop in a few weeks on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog! You’ll think you’ve gone to heaven!

Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you soon!  #doingthehappydance

** 2/7/17 Winner at Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog! **

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great week! This is my very first crafty post on my new blog and I couldn’t be more stoked! I realize it’ll be a while before all my blogger friends find me here but I’m still excited and hope it won’t take too long. It was definitely time to make a switch and I wanted something cheerful and fun, so I created this blog (named after my beloved Love To Scrap!) in some pretty bright colors! Our newest challenge at Let’s Craft and Create began on the 5th and I’m happy to share my mid-month DT inspiration project for Challenge #121 – Things With Wings! I created a monochrome friendship card in shades of teal with a pop of black.

2016_08130001a

I used coordinating Stampin’ Up! stamps, ink, papers and cardstock, and colored the flowers with matching Spectrum Noir markers. Can you believe there’s no big bow?! LOL

2016_08130002a

My first spinner card! I stamped the dragonfly on the spinner and colored the wings with clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.

2016_08130004a

Dragonflies are so majestic and beautiful – right up there with butterflies in my opinion. I really enjoyed creating this card and love how it turned out.

I’m happy to enter this fun spinner card into the following challenges:

I’m here!

Hi everyone! I finally made the decision to migrate over to WordPress. It’s been about 5-6 months since I started toying with the idea. So now comes the task of learning how to navigate WordPress and convincing my Peeps to come over to meet me here! Hopefully it won’t take too long… I’ll be back soon with an official crafty post!

Scrappy hugs!
