Happy Birthday Girlfriend

Hi everyone! A big Happy Monday to you! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of the Classic Crest cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a fun birthday card for a retro friend, lol!

I cut a standard size A2 top-fold card base from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock along with another panel for the inside, and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut a strip of Pop-Tone Razzleberry cardstock for the front and a thin strip for the inside. I cut a piece of Pop-Tone Orange Fizz cardstock for the front and another panel for the inside. I stamped the jukebox, boomerang, two stars and two jacks on the ivory cardstock and cut them with coordinating dies. I created two extra jukebox die cuts and layered them on top of each other for a little dimension. I also cut an extra boomerang die cut which I layered beneath the stamped one for just a tad extra dimension. I really enjoyed putting this card together – reminded me very much of my dad’s stereo system with the huge speaker in the living room that had boomerangs, stars and jacks on the fabric! Very 60s, lol!

I embellished the inside panel with some of the retro paper and Razzleberry cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black and layered the panel on the Orange Fizz cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! Retro is so awesome! Hey, I resemble that remark! ;)

Happy Saturday eve, my friends! I’ve popped in this evening to share something I’m absolutely tickled about! I joined the Reneabouquets ‘Artists With An Edge’ Facebook group several weeks ago and have been ‘oohing and ahhing’ over all the beautiful projects being shared in the group! So I decided to join in and created a shaker box to enter in their August 2020 Moodboard Challenge! How gorgeous is this moodboard?! Green is my favorite color and I see some purple in the mix, so I went with a green and purple color combo!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this was! I love shaker cards so I went one step further to make a stand-alone shaker box using Reneabouquets DIY chipboard kit, which is just the box. The possibilities for shaker filler are literally endless… mine consists of Reneabouquets beads, chunky glitter, microbeads, glitter glass and a chipboard gear.

I embellished the outside of the box with paper flowers and leaves, green bling, a green bow and a purple dragonfly. The small green flower, the small white flower and the large green flowers are from my stash. I inked the two large flowers (which started out white) with Tattered Angels Moss Glimmer Mist. I fashioned a triple loop bow from green seam binding in my stash.

I think you’re purrfect.

Hi everyone! Well, we’re right in the middle of August! Where has this year gone?! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun kitty card that would make a purrfect Valentine or anniversary card! I used black and white with a pop of red which is one of my favorite color combos!

I created a narrow front panel which I covered in vertical strips of Glitter Black Washi Tape. I positioned two Cat Brads in the lower right corner and adhered the panel to the card base. I punched two small hearts from red cardstock and adhered them above the cats. I stamped the sentiment in red ink on white cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it across the top of the panel.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the black glitter Washi Tape and a leftover strip of the red cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in red ink and layered the panel on the red cardstock.

One more peek… such a simple design that packs a powerful punch! I’m so smitten!

Christmas Pocket Card

Hi friends! I hope you’ve had a great start of your week! I have a fun Christmas pocket card to share with you today. My inspiration came from my friend, Ginny, over at Polly’s Paper Studio. I watched her video HERE quite a while ago and made some notes, knowing that one day I would make one. Well, that day is here! Can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this was!

There are tons of layers and lots of elements on this card! Ginny made tags, however, I made a little Holiday Memories Z-fold mini album to tuck into the pocket… a little extra gift for the recipient. ;)

The pocket features a die cut doily embellished with a Santa Bingo card, die cut holly sprigs, and an assortment of flowers, berries and sprays.

I adhered a holiday sentiment die cut on the inside.

Here are some shots of the Z-fold mini album. There are three panels on the front side and three on the back side. Each panel is layered and embellished with square or circle die cuts and/or holiday elements, leaving lots of room for photos and journaling.

And one more look… I’m so loving how this turned out! Thank you for the inspiration, Ginny! ;)

winter wonderland

8/8/20 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi everyone! Well, another Saturday has rolled around, for which I’m grateful! How about you?! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a pretty wintery Christmas card that would be super easy to mass produce!

I created a top fold A2 card base and cut panels for the front and inside. I applied a strip of the Mountain Washi Tape horizontally across the front panel, about half way down, and then added three snowbanks which I created from torn white cardstock. I added two Polar Bear Brads toward the bottom which resembled a mama and her cub. Super cute, huh?! I adhered a white sentiment die cut in the open space above the mountains for a little tone-on-tone interest, along with a 1-1/2″ Snowflake Jewel. I popped the front panel up on craft foam and adhered it to the card base.

Here’s a close-up shot. I’m so smitten – this is a pretty realistic scene! ;)

I embellished the bottom of the inside panel with a strip of the Mountain Washi Tape and thin navy blue cardstock strip. I stamped the sentiment in navy blue ink and layered the panel on navy blue cardstock.

And one more peek… I’m so happy with how this turned out! I can’t get enough of those polar bears, and that Washi Tape is amazing! ;)

Coneflower Trio

Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well and staying safe! The hubby and I are continuing to do the #alonetogether thing which, at this point, looks like the new norm. Definitely better safe than sorry! I’ve popped in to share a few more samples I created for Prickley Pear Stamps! I’m having an absolute blast playing with these amazing stamps and dies! I created a set of three watercolor ‘Wishing you…’ cards created with the beautiful Build a Flower – Flower Hug For You Coneflower clear stamp set.

I did a few practice runs on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock scraps to get the color combinations I wanted using my Zig Clean Color brush markers and a mini mister. I colored each stamp with a Zig, spritzed with a mini mister, and stamped, being careful not to get the stamps too wet in order to preserve the definition of the coneflower petals. These stamps line up very nicely and I was happy with the watercolor result on all three cards. I heat set the coneflowers once they were stamped, and then ‘washed’ light blue over the backgrounds using distress ink and a waterbrush. I used gold and silver Venicelux metallic cardstock, stitched mini scallop rectangle dies and an embossing folder for the background. I used different sentiments from the stamp set on the inside of each card. For this first one, I used mustard, yellow, and bright yellow for the coneflower; mid green and olive green for the stem and leaves; and mid brown for the center.

For the second one, I used light carmine, pink, and dark pink for the coneflower, and the same colors listed above for the stem, leaves and center.

And for the third one, I used light pink, lilac, and light violet for the coneflower, and the same colors listed above for the stem, leaves and center.

And one more peek at the trio… loving how these turned out!

you’re tea-riffic!

8/16/20 DT Favorite at International Art & Soul!

Mornin’, peeps! Happy Monday to you! I’ve popped in this morning to share a card I created for The Outlawz Challenges! This will probably be the only card I’ll create for these challenges this month as I have a lot going on. But we’ll see… you just never know what may happen! I created this beauty for the Freebie/Progressive Challenge where The Paper Shelter is our sponsor this month! The lovely Veronica gifted us this amazing It’s Tea Time digital set to play with so I went with a birthday theme! Can’t have too many birthday cards in the arsenal, you know! ;)

I’m not really a steampunk fan but this image is rather ‘steampunky’ and I love it! I printed the full image once on the background paper and then printed just the girl and leaves/flourishes two more times which I fussy cut and layered one on top of the other. I ran a brown marker around the edges for a more finished look and then adhered them on top of the full image for some dimension. This technique adds a lot of interest. I layered the background on turquoise cardstock and then adhered it to a kraft card base. I stamped the sentiment on ivory cardstock in strips and then punched it with a circle punch. I punched a slightly larger circle from the kraft cardstock and layered them together.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the turquoise and kraft cardstock used on the front, and stamped a birthday sentiment from the same tea stamp set in turquoise ink. I colored the two little tea cups with alcohol markers.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! I love The Paper Shelter images!

Just poppin’ by

Hello, my friends! Happy Saturday – hope you have a fun weekend planned! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring Classic Crest cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created an adorable ‘love you’ card for one of our granddaughters.

This was such a fun card – and a super easy design! I cut a standard A2 size top fold card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and another panel from 80# Solar White for the inside. I cut panels for the front and the inside from yellow texture paper. I stamped the popcorn box, popcorn, loose kernels and sentiments on the 110# Solar White cardstock and cut them with the coordinating dies. I colored the popcorn with Nuvo alcohol markers. Then the fun part – which is always arranging the elements! ;)

I embellished the inside panel with a piece of the yellow texture paper used on the front, adhered the sentiment and some loose kernels, and layered the panel on the same yellow texture paper.

And one more peek… love, love, love! So stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! ;)

priceless treasure box

8/31/20 DT Favorite Winner at A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – hope you have a great weekend planned! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #49 – August Anything Goes! You know how I love my fun folds and I’ve been playing again! This is one I’ve had in my tutorial folder for at least a year and a half and I’m not sure why I haven’t made one – it was super fun! My inspiration came from a YouTube video HERE and as always, I put my own spin on it. This would make such an awesome box to give chocolate or other candy, or a set of trinkets to someone as a gift. ;)

I created a little cluster of shabby goodness for the front of the box consisting of a mini doily, a filigree embellishment, a small bouquet of white paper flowers, a small black bow and a butterfly. I added the priceless treasure sentiment and some pink Dot Sparklers to finish it off.

Here’s the box opened up. I used a coordinating paper to create the four small boxes inside. I created faux handles for the boxes from 1/4″ punched circles embellished with the pink Dot Sparklers. They are flat and don’t hinder the box when closed.

Here’s a view from above. I lined the boxes with matching cardstock.

And here’s one more look at the inside. OMG, this was fun! ;)

I know you are but what am I?

Hi everyone! Can you believe we’re barging right into August?! OMG, where has this year gone?! This month’s challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog launched this morning and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #136 – For The Kids! I created a kid card using a Twistoon image that would be a hit with just about anybody… can you say FUN?! Sure reminded me of my childhood, lol!

I’ve had this background stamp in my stash forever it seems, and this month’s challenge was the perfect time to use it! I stamped it on ivory cardstock, rounded all four corners and layered the panel on tangerine cardstock. I printed the awesome image three times and colored one of them with Prismacolor pencils. I fussy cut all three images and adhered them on top of each other and then ran a Memento Tuxedo Black marker around the edges. This was just the right amount of dimension for the front panel. ;)

I rounded the corners of the inside panel and embellished it with a leftover strip of tangerine cardstock and a strip of skinny Washi Tape. I stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on the tangerine cardstock.

One more look… OMG, I love this image! She’s so homely she’s cute! ;)
