You’re the Zest pop-out Z-fold

Hey everybody! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! Our weather is glorious here in southwestern Colorado and I hope to be outside at least a little bit to enjoy it! I have another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the super pretty May 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. Everybody seems to love the pop-out Z-fold cards I’ve made lately, so I decided to create another one featuring several of the gorgeous prints in this month’s kit.

The card base and diamond shaped layers were cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Layering panels were cut from CutCardStock Basis Soft Pink cardstock and 12×12 Cardstock Shop Brown Thai Banana Handmade Paper along with several coordinating papers in this month’s kit. The front sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the STAMPlorations Layered Citrus stamp set. I added one adhesive gem from the upgrades which finished the card front.

The inside sentiment was stamped in black ink using the Concord & 9th Painted Tulips stamp set.

Scrappy hugs,

Happy Holidays shaker

Hey everybody! I hope you’ve had a great week! It’s turning out to be a busy Friday morning on my blog! I have a super fun Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share featuring our new line of Sprinkles. With this feature comes an awesome promo… buy three Sprinkles items and get one free! We have beads, polymer clay, crushes, glitter, rhinestones and sequins… choose from many styles and occasions! And remember to use my code LoveToScrap2 for 10% off your entire order! There is no minimum purchase requirement and no usage limits, AND it combines with product, order, and shipping discounts! Pop over to the Keep It Simple Instagram Page for a fun Hop and Giveaway!

I created an adorable mini slimline shaker card with papers, stamps and dies from our Scandinavian Christmas Collection as well as beads, polymer clay and sequins from our Sprinkles line! I used our new KIS Slimline Cuts Stitched Squares die to cut the shaker apertures. The colors in the Scandinavian Christmas Collection are non-traditional Christmas colors and I love that! I used tulle for the shaker this time rather than acetate. This was just a fun card all the way around!

The 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the Scandinavian Christmas 12×12 Cardstock and Collection Packs. Using the KIS Slimline Cut Stitched Squares die, I cut two apertures in the snowflake patterned paper, adhered tulle on the back side, and added some GKD Shaker Strips.

I stamped the gnome and birds from the Gnomes Collection Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 80# Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Gnomes Outline Dies. I then stamped the snowflake and sentiment in Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink, cut the snowflake with the coordinating outline die and fussy cut the sentiment.

I added Iridescent Snowflake Sequins, Brown Polymer Clay Dots, White Polymer Clay Hearts, 2mm Matte Red Beads, Candy Cane Red & White Polymer Clay Christmas Mix and Red Peppermint & Chocolate Polymer Clay Mix – all from the new Sprinkles line. I sealed the shaker and adhered the elements to the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the snowflake paper used on the front. I stamped an additional sentiment from the Gnomes Collection Stamps in the brown ink which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Just Married

Hey everybody! Happy Friday – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! The weather is glorious! I’ve popped in this morning with a Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share created with the awesome Just Married stamp set released a few months ago. This is another one of the (many) projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. The front flap fold is one of my all-time favorite fun folds and I thought these whimsical stamps paired perfectly with the Doodlebug Design Snow Much Fun 6×6 papers. Thinking outside the box with these awesome patterns and colors!

I cut the card base and flap from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the Doodlebug Design Snow Much Fun 6×6 paper pack. Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies, I cut two stitched circles and layered them together and popped them up on thick 3D foam squares on the front panel. I stamped the cans from the Just Married stamp set directly on the white circle and drew some lines with a Sakura Pigma Micron 08 black pen. I paper-pieced the car which I colored with a few alcohol markers and added Keep It Simple Back to Basics Clear Enamel Dots to the tail lights. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added a few Eyelet Outlet purple gemstones.

The inside panel was cut from Cougar Smooth White cardstock and embellished with a leftover strip of paper used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the same Just Married stamp set, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Camera Mini Album

Hi everyone! Happy Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week and you’re looking forward to a weekend full of awesomeness! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the absolutley lovely May 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. The paper pad in this month’s collection is divine, as are the upgrades, and I had such fun! I’ve had my Cricut out again and created an adorable camera mini album using a cut file in my arsenal. The fun thing about this particular mini album is the hidden binding. I have several more cut files for hidden binding mini albums, so stay tuned! I don’t know when I’ll get to making the rest of them but I sure plan on it!

I cut the album cover and inside pages from CutCardStock Desert Storm cardstock and all the album elements in the cut file from CutCardStock Pop Tone Black Licorice, Sweet Tooth, Jellybean Green and Lemon Drop. I then cut layering panels from a variety of pretty papers in this month’s kit and embellished the pages with chipboard stickers, adhesive gems and washi tape from the upgrades. I made pockets for several of the pages with my WRMK Pocket Punch Board along with pull-out inserts, leaving plenty of room for photos and journaling.

Here are shots of the entire album. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

Life is all about Balance

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day and middle of May already! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #82! I’ve been having a little (more) fun with my Cricut and created an adorable cactus box card for this challenge. It looks pretty darn real, doesn’t it?! But no thorns… just good ol’ cardstock! And the best part is it folds flat for mailing!

Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the SVG Cuts Cactus Box Card SVG cut file, I cut the cactus, box and stones from CutCardStock Kale Green, Amaranth, Scottish Highlands Green and Twine cardstock. I cut the box panels from a pink floral print in the Doodlebug Design Floral-Graph Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 double-sided cardstock pad. I didn’t take a photo of the envelope, but it was cut from K & Company 12×12 Essentials Dark Designer Paper Pad.

I cut the back panel from a green print in the Echo Park Away We Go Collection Kit. The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Around the Garden stamp set and was stamped in Memento Northern Pine ink.

Baby Boy Bun in the Oven

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I hope all the moms (to humans or furbabies) out there had a beautiful Mother’s Day! We had wonderful weather here – still a bit chilly and windy – but beautiful nonetheless! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute oven box card with a baby boy ‘bun in the oven’ theme! I used Stardream Metallic cardstock (on sale throughout the month of May) which I paired with Lessebo cardstock. This is actually the second one of these oven box cards I’ve made so it went together pretty fast. I created the first one in a pink baby girl theme for a guest design project coming up in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for a ‘mostly the same but slightly different’ version!

Using the Spellbinders Pop-Up 3D Vignette What’s Bakin’ Oven dies, I cut all the pieces from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Sapphire, Stardream Metallic Vista, Stardream Metallic Silver, Lessebo Ivory, Lessebo Pitch Black, Lessebo Coffee Bean, and Lessebo Cherry Red. I used Grafix Crystal Clear Acetate for the ‘glass’ in the oven door, along with pieces of Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares to pop up the cookie sheet, oven mitts and utensils.

The assembly is always the most fun part of making 3D projects and this one was no different! I used the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut a panel from Lessebo Ivory cardstock for the back of the oven. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

Here are a couple angled shots and two more shots showing that the top of the oven opens so the card can fold flat for mailing. I just love it!

Scrappy hugs,

Happy Summer

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday! I’ve popped in with another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share created with the awesome Prickley Pear Stamps Ham Camper Summer stamps. This is another one of the (many) projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. I’ve mentioned before that this stamp set is one of my favorites because Ed and I were full-time RVers for several years and we sure have some wonderful memories of places we visited and people we met! There are coordinating dies which you’ve seen me use but I chose to fussy cut the elements on this particular card with sky and water washi tape and torn kraft paper for sand! This is such a fun set for scene-building, and there are other Ham Camper sets so be sure to check them all out!

I cut the card base from Cougar Smooth 100# White and a layering panel from Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock. I added the Eyelet Outlet sky and water washi tape and tore a couple pieces of CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft paper to use for the sand. I stamped all the elements for the scene on Cougar Smooth White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them, adding a few details with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen. I popped the window and door of the camper up on foam strips, and added a stamped and trimmed sentiment.

Scrappy hugs,

Cat Rescue Mission

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great Monday so far! I’m popping on real quick to let everybody know that I’ve updated the link on my right sidebar for our Cat Rescue Mission. I’m asking for support (any amount) if any of my critter-loving friends are able.

Most everybody knows that Ed and I have been rescuing cats and kittens for many years. Ongoing expenses include medical/dental care, food, treats, litter and shots. Four of our rescues have diagnosed dental disease and we’re looking at some expensive dental surgery. Our guy Tigger had most of his teeth removed early last week which set us back about $1100.00 and it’ll likely cost that much for each of the remaining three.

Many thanks to anybody even considering donating! <3

Scrappy hugs,

Have a Ball

Hey everybody! Well, another weekend has come and gone – and can you believe we’re almost to the middle of May?! I’m stoked to be back with a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with the super awesome KIS Cuts Mason Jar and Mason Jar Sentiments which I paired with the Back To Basics Lilac 12×12 Collection Pack and Enamel Dots! And I also used a few pieces of the Polymer Clay-Hollow Circle Rainbow Mix from the new Sprinkles line as embellishments! I totally LOVE shaped cards and there are so many fun details in this mason jar die set!

Using the main die in the KIS Cuts Mason Jar set, I cut the shaped card base from CutCardStock Cougar 100# Smooth White cardstock. I cut the layers, shadow pieces and sentiment from coordinating papers in the Back To Basics Lilac 12×12 Collection Pack. I assembled the card, popping up the rim on 1-mm-thick foam squares and adding metallic silver thread with a bow and a Back To Basics Lilac Enamel Dot across the top. I stamped the small portion of the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Royal Treatment ink and added several pieces of the Polymer Clay-Hollow Circle Rainbow Mix Sprinkles as embellishments.

I stamped a sentiment from the Back To Basics Congratulations Sentiments stamp set in Catherine Pooler Royal Treatment ink on the inside, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Happy Flippin’ Birthday

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I have another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share today featuring the super cute Flippin’ Best stamp set that was released in January of this year. This is another one of the (many) projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. There’s nothing cuter than this little guy being showcased on a faux step card with his bunch of birthday balloons! I don’t have written instructions for this faux step card fun fold but it’s basically a double easel fold (seen on Sharon Armonstrong’s blog HERE a while back) with a tall fixed panel to make it look like a step card. The assembled card is A2 size.

The card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock with panels cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Misty Blue. I stamped the penguin from the Flippin’ Best stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 80# Solar White and colored him with Sharpie and Bic Mark-It markers. I cut layering panels from papers in the Carta Bella Beach Party Collection Kit and added a sentiment (from the same stamp set) on the bottom flap. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones to the focal image and two strips of Eyelet Outlet 4mm blue pearls to the bottom flap.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White and embellished it with a leftover strip of paper used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Spring Scalloped Circles stamp set and layered the panel on Lessebo Misty Blue cardstock.
