Thinking of You

Hey everybody! Well, another weekend has come and gone, and here we are on Monday! I hope you have a great week coming up! I have a pretty Tape Runner DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring die cut shapes from Spellbinders. And of course, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. I made this card for someone very dear to me who was going through a rough time. I thought the gold accents were so pretty and cheerful.

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere the doily and pearls, and the two elements with the gold accents were popped up on foam squares. I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from Basis Blue, Bright Gold Foil and 80# Solar White cardstock. Using the Prickley Pear Stamps Chicken Wire Background stamp and Catherine Pooler Tranquil, Stone Blue and Cove Blue inks, I stamped the background, cut it with the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and layered the panels together. I cut a doily from 80# Solar White cardstock using the Spellbinders Medallion Four die and adhered it to the card front along with several small die cut hearts. I adhered the flowers and sentiment with Scrapbook Adhesives 3-D Foam Squares, and added several white pearls which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips from the background and gold foil used on the front. I added a die cut sentiment and layered the panel on Basis Blue cardstock.

And one more peek… such a pretty card and I’m loving all the layers and touches of gold! And it’s great to have Tape Runner to hold it all together! ;)

7/17/22 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great weekend and it’s not too hot where you are! I think it’s pretty hot everywhere, lol! Our A/C is working overtime for sure! I haven’t been in my studio too much since our little feline girl Puff-Puff was injured. She was in the hospital for eight days and since coming home a week ago, she’s doing pretty well and I’m feeling more like crafting. I pulled out my Spellbinders Damask Daydream Kit of the Month from July 2021 and whipped up a pretty inspirational tag today while watching a suspense thriller on Lifetime. Yeah, the hubs laughs at me for watching the LMN channel, lol!

I used quite a few items from the kit – cardstock and patterned papers, a floral corner die, a number of die cut shapes, gemstones and foam squares. I started by adhering coordinating patterned papers to a Ranger distress tag and built it up from there, layering a die cut floral corner and a bunch of die cut shapes. I popped some of the die cut shapes up on foam squares for dimension, and added several gemstones. Gotta have some bling!

I created a hole reinforcement for the top using Stampin’ Up 1/2″ and 1/4″ circle punches and light purple cardstock. I threaded some pretty purple twill ribbon through the hole and tied it with some gold metallic string (both from Really Reasonable Ribbon).

And one more peek… I really love how this turned out! The most fun was picking out all the items I wanted to use and then watching it come together! And I love a green and purple color combo… one of my favorites!

My Seasonal Gnomie!

Hey, everybody! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Dang. I can’t believe July is half over already! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I am really loving gnomes these days and there are so many different ones out there… short, tall, stamped, die cut, male, female, and the list goes on! This dude, created with the XL Wood Gnome 2, is a giant, standing over 20″ tall! He comes with a stand but I fashioned him to hang on a front door to hold different seasonal add-on elements all year long! You’ll get a peek of only one of those add-ons in this post but you’ll see all 12 of them in my final Clear Scraps post in just a few days! So stay tuned… saving the best for last!

I painted Gnomie’s hat with red acrylic paint. I painted his robe with light green acrylic paint and then swiped on bright aqua green acrylic paint over that to tone down the light green a bit. I painted his beard with white ash paint. Then finally, I colored his nose and hands with a flesh tone alcohol marker.

I adhered a small disc magnet toward the bottom of his beard in the area where he’ll ‘hold’ each of the seasonal add-ons which also have a small disc magnet on the back of each one.

I adhered a tiny magnet to the back of each of his hands.

Each seasonal add-on has two tiny magnets on the front in the areas where his hands will ‘hold’ each one. Stay tuned for my post showcasing all the add-ons in just a few days!

I’ll be Gnome for Christmas!

Hey, everybody! Happy Hump Day! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a super fun gnome-themed Christmas home decor piece featuring the Medium House DIY Pallet Shape and Mini Shaker Gnome! The pallet shapes and mini shakers are so much fun to play with!

I covered the three sections of the Medium House DIY Pallet Shape with coordinating Christmas patterned papers, inked the edges of the sections with white pigment ink, and added a 3mm pink pearl bling strip to the roof outline. I stamped a sentiment in green ink and die cut it with a sentiment strip die, and adhered it to the roof section.

Next, I die cut two trees from dark aqua cardstock and adhered the outlines to the left of the house. I die cut the two trees once more from light aqua cardstock and adhered the negative space pieces on the tree outlines on the house.

Turning my attention to the Mini Shaker Gnome, I colored his hat and robe with alcohol markers and sponged white pigment ink on his beard. I added accents to his beard with an alcohol marker, added accents to his hat with an acrylic paint pen, and covered his shoes with light aqua cardstock. I assembled the shaker from the bottom up, adhering the two bottom chipboard forms and then adding 3mm clear droplets to the shaker compartments. I adhered the acrylic divider (with the protective film removed from both sides) and then adhered the front chipboard form. I clamped the shaker for about 10-15 minutes to be sure the layers adhered well, and adhered the gnome beside the trees.

And one more look… loving how this turned out! You all know how much I love gnomes and how much I love Christmas, and this piece really makes me happy! ;)

Coffee Time Holiday Card

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and your week has started off nicely! I’ve popped in today to share an awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project! I created a clean and simple almost one layer caffeinated Christmas card featuring Waffle Flower stamps and dies and a strip of washi tape. And, of course, all elements were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner! I paper pieced the coffee cup with green glitter and patterned paper. This was such a simple card to create and would be a fun one to mass produce for those on your Christmas card list!

As mentioned above, all elements were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner (even a line of adhesive under the washi tape). I cut a standard A2 size top folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock, rounded the bottom right corner, and applied a strip of Eyelet Outlet Fun Pattern Washi Tape toward the bottom. I stamped the coffee cup on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock using the Waffle Flower Coffee Time stamp set and cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Coffee Time die set. I stamped the cup again on green glitter paper and on green plaid paper, then fussy cut and paper pieced the cup and sleeve which I adhered to the bottom right of the card front. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and added several red gemstones from Eyelet Outlet.

The inside was equally as easy as the front. ;) I applied a strip of the same washi tape used on the front (with a line of Tape Runner adhesive under it) and stamped a sentiment from The Project Bin Merriest Christmas stamp set in green ink.

And one more look… super happy with this CAS caffeinated Christmas card! Say that fast three times, lol!

Americana Mermaid Wall Hanging

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday! I hope my American friends had a great July 4th long weekend! I’m stoked to be on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog today with my debut DT inspiration project! I’m all about Americana and anything red, white and blue, and I grew up seeing live mermaid shows at the Weeki Wachee Springs Attraction (in central FL), so my project is a combination of the two. I created a fun wall hanging featuring the Mermaid in the USA and Mermaid Tail SVG files and red plaid digital paper from the Christmas Patterns Digital Paper Mega Bundle. Yep, you read that right… Christmas paper isn’t just for Christmas! ;)

I cut all the pieces in the Mermaid in the USA SVG file in red, white, blue and gold glitter cardstock. I printed the red plaid digital paper from the Christmas Patterns Digital Paper Mega Bundle on Basis 80# White cardstock. This versatile paper pack can be used for non-holiday projects, too! I trimmed the digital paper and adhered it to a sturdy 8×8 panel that I created from two pieces of 165# Solar White cardstock glued together. I adhered all the pieces from the SVG file, and ended up adding a layered wave from the Mermaid Tail SVG file at the bottom which I had not originally planned. I punched two holes at the top with my WRMK Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and added a ribbon hanger made from Really Reasonable Ribbon Flag grosgrain ribbon with knots tied on the ends.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! I love fun versatile digital papers and thinking outside the box! And aren’t these SVG files so fun?!

Scrappy hugs,

yay for love!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! I hope you had a great weekend and have something fun planned this weekend! I have a pretty CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share this morning featuring our Bright Gold Foil cardstock which I paired with our Basis Green and Basis Light Lime cardstock. This engagement or wedding congratulations card has a filigree leaf background cut from the gold foil cardstock which really makes a statement!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. Using the Dare 2B Artzy Leaf Background die set, I cut the filigree leaf background from Bright Gold Foil cardstock which I adhered to a Basis Green cardstock stitched rectangle panel with spray adhesive. I die cut a stitched leaf from Basis Light Lime cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls ink. I picked out a die cut foiled floral element that I had already created with the Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Bouquet washi tape and die, adhered it to the top of the leaf, and then adhered the panel to the card base. I added several Kat Scrappiness gold pearls to the leaf which completed the card front.

Using the same Dare 2B Artzy Leaf Backfground die set, I die cut a stitched rectangle panel from Basis Green cardstock for the inside along with a thin frame from Bright Gold Foil cardstock which I adhered to the stitched rectangle panel with spray adhesive. I also die cut a slightly smaller stitched rectangle panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock using a My Favorite things Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics along with an embellishing strip from Basis Light Lime cardstock which I adhered together. I stamped a sentiment (from the same Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set) in Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls ink. I adhered an additional Pinkfresh Studio foiled floral element and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! Green is my favorite color, so I automatically went for the Basis Green and Basis Light Lime cardstock to compliment the Bright Gold Foil cardstock!

7/15/22 Top 5 at QKR Stampede!

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! Hope you had a terrific week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #45 – Anything Christmas Goes! You know how I love me some fun folds… so I created this pretty open box card for our challenge this time using the Concord & 9th Stacks Base dies along with the Concord & 9th Home for the Holidays stamps and dies! This scene is so much fun to create – this isn’t the first time I’ve used these stamps and dies, and it surely won’t be the last!

I die cut the base from CutCardStock Basis Blue and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, added tiny white dots using a Posca White paint pen, and assembled the base. I cut the remaining elements from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and CutCardStock Dolphin, Bonsai, Basis Red, Curious Metallic Night, Royal Sundance Linen Emerald, Royal Sundance Linen Burgundy, Curious Metallic Aloe, Stardream Metallic Aquamarine, Curious Metallic Pink Quartz, Basis Teal, Basis Aqua, and Shadow Gray cardstock, and then assembled the houses. I added a few tiny iridescent gemstones to the background and then created the scene. The final touch was stamping the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink on the white banner, layering it on the blue banner, and adhering it to the front of the card.

Here’s an angled shot.

And one more peek… love the fact that box cards fold flat for mailing! I really love how this one turned out!

Happy Fall Box Card

Hi friends! Can you believe it’s the middle of the year already?! The months are just flying by! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #156 – Anything Goes! Box cards are at the top of my all-time favorites and this truck box card with all the pumpkins and leaves was super fun to create… I could smell Fall while I was making this one! This Fall Truck Box Card is yet another awesome cut file from Simply Crafty SVGs! I was on a truck ‘roll’ there for a bit and I believe I’ve created nearly all the truck box cards Sandy has designed!

I cut the truck body and panels from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange, the tires from Basis Black, the back lights from Basis Red, the sentiment from Basis Brown, and the bumper and mirrors from Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock. I cut the pumpkins and leaves from Basis Green, Basis Dark Red, Basis Gold, Basis Orange, Pop-Tone Orange Fizz and Pop-Tone Tangy Orange. I added some texture by using the Sizzix Texture Fades Harlequin embossing folder on the side and back panels, and the Darice Chevron embossing folder on the tires.

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and stamped the Inspired By Stamping sentiment (sadly out of business) in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink.

Another angled shot and one folded flat for mailing… so loving how this turned out! I’m definitely in my element when assembling these projects – not a care in the world and no clue what’s going on around me, lol! ;)

Scrappy hugs,

These shoes were made for walkin’

Hi friends! Happy Fri-YAY! Today is the 1st of July and you know what that means… lots of posts! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #60 – Anything Goes + optional CAS! I know I’ve mentioned before that I used to be very intimidated by a clean and simple design, but over the past few years I’ve grown to love it! And remember, the technique twist is not ever mandatory to play in our challenges! I created a fun shoe-themed card using a Bugaboo heels image from my digital image arsenal. Bugaboo may be closed but their images will go on forever! ;)

I cut a standard A2 top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis White 110# cardstock. I printed the heels digital image on CutCardStock Basis White 80# cardstock and cut it with my Scan N Cut along with several additional plain die cuts which I adhered together for some dimension. I colored the image with pink and black alcohol markers and added a little sparkle overlay to the black ribbon. Using the My Favorite Things Stitched Ric Rac Die-namics die, I die cut a strip of ric rac from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock, and adhered it across the bottom of the card front. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Pretties Sassy Shoes stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink just under the ric rac on the right side. I adhered the shoe just above the ric rac and added several tiny pink gemstones to complete the card front.

Using the same ric rac die, I die cut a strip of ric rac from Pop-Tone Razzleberry cardstock and adhered it across the top of the inside flap, and then stamped the sentiment from the same Sassy Shoes stamp set just below it.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! It’s definitely CAS and it’s almost a one-layer card, lol!
